((LOL at the nicknames. I think I like Mac-daddy better though :P))

"A glass of wine and you forget all about me? Come now Ms. Frey, I figured you fancied me enough to at least offer that."

Mac had seen her as he entered the staff lounge. He loved to tease her, even when it annoyed her. A smirk was formed on his lips as he strutted over to her in his flirtatous, confident manner that he always showed when he was around her. Mostly it was all a game, a show. He was not completely the chauvinist he enabled himself to be seen as.

Claire bared her teeth in a dangerous smile as Professor Thorne walked, nay, strutted his way over to her. Cockiness practically oozed from his skin. She might have admired the fact had his confidence not been directed at her. She had met his type before, or at least she thought so. The type who tried to charm his way into a woman's heart, hoping that cheeky arrogance and humour was enough to win a lady over. Claire assumed she was his latest victim but all it would take was for a prettier, younger thing to walk by and she'd be forgotten. That was why she had no time for these games.

"I don't fancy you enough to offer you a pile of dirt, Mr Thorne. Which is terribly unfortunate for you."

Mac simply crouched over by her with that smirk remaining on his lips, knowing full well that she probably didn't want him anywhere near her. He himself didn't mind being around her at all. Mac thought of Claire as really only hostile towards him because he wouldn't show her his real side. To him, she would've been smart enough to figure that out but it was as though she never wanted to. He was really an easy-going, nice guy that just fancied giving her a hard time since she was totally withdrawn.

"I am sure you will get over that, love," Mac said. "Sometimes it takes a little while to warm up to my desirable charm." He winked at her playfully and chuckled some under his breath. After saying that he pulled back and stood up, then conjured up a wine glass with his wand. He slipped his wand back into his cloak pocket then quickly snatched up Claire's wine bottle before she could put it away, and poured himself a glass. He put the bottle down and raised his own glass to hers..

"Cheers." He smirked once more and had himself a sip.

If Claire studied him hard enough maybe she would figure him out. But he was right, it was as though she didn't want to find out. She had never been a big fan of love, lust or romance in general. She'd had a few men before but every relationship had been doomed from the start. She was a tough person to crack when it came to completely opening oneself up to love. She hadn't even tried in her past relationships. They'd made her feel next to nothing, aside from a soft fondness, much like she felt for her students. That was it. She assumed she was just not meant for love ( ... )

"You mean... like this?"

Mac proceeded with a large gulp from the glass and started to dramatically swish the concotion in his mouth. After, he dipped his head back and gurgled it before swallowing it down and having made a satisfied grunt. He smirked at his step to annoy Claire and put his glass down in front of her.

In fact, though she may have protested that he did not, Mac did know how to properly analyze and drink wine. It was a very nice tool when he wanted to relax or perhaps romance a bird into bed with him. In this case, however, it was just to amuse himself and tease his colleague.
