Claire Frey swished the red wine around in the crystal glass, exposing the Pinot Noir to extra oxygen and thereby releasing more flavour and giving the wine a stronger smell. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, letting the scents roll over her body. It was a sly wine, almost naughty in flavour, she thought to herself as she took her first sip. A quote came to mind although she couldn't remember who said it, "God made Cabernet Sauvignon whereas the devil made Pinot Noir." How true, she thought with a small smile, how very true.
Laughter broke her focus, sitting alone in the corner with her wine. It came from the middle of the room where a couple of Professors were playing exploding snap. Claire laughed along with them, enjoying their childish manner. If only the students could see what their Professors sometimes got up to! It was't all fighting dragons like the previous week. She gingerly felt the ribs on her right side. Skel-E-Gro had fixed the broken one immediately but a sizeable bruise remained.
