"Fiiiii! Fiii-fyyye fooe fum! Get down 'ere or I'll kick yer bum!"
A book came flying up the spiral staircase that lead to where the girls dormatories were, followed by a tomato. Then a very large, fat, gray cat. Cucuhalin did not seem very happy at being propelled into the air so quickly, and the moment he was able to sink his paws into the carpet at the top of the stairs, he held them there, as if frightened he might be taken to flight again. But a moment later, a first year boy came hurtling after him, and the cat shrieked and darted off into one of the darkened rooms. Most people were sleeping by this time, of course. Not Lou Hawkins, though (and, apperently, not the first year boy, who had landed at the top and was now shrieking as the stairs turned into a slide and deposited him at the bottom again).
Lou was in a terror of a mood. They came and went, of course, but today was worse than she'd had in a while-- due to the death of a dormmate, but also to the fact that it was a full moon. They always bothered her so.
Stepping over the boy on the ground, Lou made a sharp whirring noise and the child cried out, then ran from the sixth year. A part of her wanted to grab him again and send him up to demand Fi show herself, but she rather hoped the younger girl had already gotten the message. Most of the girls dorm had-- they were peeking their heads down the stairs, looking worried.
