Yet again, Jeremy found himself taking the long way to the kitchens. Yesterday, he hadn't exactly been avoiding Dari. Today, he was.
Honestly, he knew that it must have hurt Dari to see him snogging Adriana... after everything. However, he still maintained that he had been drunk and not thinking clearly. Had he not been left alone on Valentine's Day with an entire bottle of wine, he wouldn't have even considered it.
Besides, it wasn't like she hadn't kissed anyone since February 14! Sure, he didn't know this for a fact but he knew Dari... and she had not been snog-less. He was willing to bet on it!
Though, none of that mattered now. He was going to go to the kitchens and he was going fix himself a sandwich so large that he'd hardly be able to bite into it. After that, he was going to carry it back to his dorm and see if he could make it the entire weekend without bumping into his best friend.
He loved her. He missed her. There were times that he felt like he couldn't live without her. However, right now, he just couldn't be around her. The last thing he needed was another ... whatever they'd had in the Great Hall the day before.
