Emma was laying on her stomach with her head at the foot of the bed as she flipped through the Quibbler. "And apparently," she told her sister, ignoring her encouragement to work, "he's dating that one bird in that one band..."

Okay, so she was talking about her latest famous crush -and had been for the last several minutes- but, really, he was far too attractive to be dating that... girl. She had stringy hair and she wasn't all that pretty. An attractive bloke like that should have a pretty girl on his arm, in her opinion.

She would, eventually, work on her essay. She just wasn't going to do that right now. Sundays weren't for work... they were for laying about and doing fun things. So far, however, Emma had been unable to get Ellie to go search for that fun thing.

No matter, really. She was quite happy sitting here reading her magazine and eating her lollipop. Mmmmm, strawberry.

Ellie rolled her eyes, because it wasn't like she cared who Emma's latest celebrity crush was dating. Especially when she had the Renaissance and the break between the wizarding and muggle worlds to focus on. Now that was fascinating stuff.

Besides, if they were going to talk about boys, they should talk about real boys, but Ellie wasn't one to do that either. Mostly because in the rare instance where she actually liked a boy, she never talked about it, not even to her sister.

No, really, who cared about the Renaissance and the break between the wizarding and muggle worlds? Now that was boring stuff! Emma was only reading her magazine because Ellie had insisted that they work on their History of Magic essay and it was like she was, actually, going to do thatBesides, Emma's latest celebrity crush happened to be h. o. t. - hot! Blue eyes, sandy hair, muscles that could make a girl melt. Who didn't want to talk about him? Who didn't want to do other things to him? Not Emma, she could lock the boy up and ( ... )

Ellie had hoped that he refusal to talk about it would have made Emma move on, but this wasn't exactly what she had in mind. She'd hoped her twin would give up and she'd be left to write this essay in peace, but she really should have known better!

Sighing, she set down her quill and looked over at Emma, shaking her head.

"Yeah, Em, only about a thousand times last week," she told her. She loved her sister, but if she had to hear one more time about what a fantastic snog that Hufflepuff boy was...

She shook her head at the question about the boy's brother though. "No, why would I?" she asked. If wasn't like she had anything in common with the Slytherin and it didn't matter to her that he was cute. She had no interest in being added as a notch to the belt of a boy she was sure had probably snogged half the female population of Hogwarts.

Emma move on? Never! She was trapped in a dorm with her favorite sister in the whole wide world. Why would she want to move on? Besides, it was like her twin-duty to save El from the horrors of History of Magic... or something.

"He's a really nice boy," she continued to talk to her sister. "I bet his brother is nice too. Cocky, of course... possibly stuck on himself... but how can I hold that against a bloke? I'm kind of stuck on myself."

Unlike El, Emma didn't mind 'being added as a notch'. As a matter of fact, she had her own belt that she was notching up. Bryant Sawyer... check!

"I don't know, El," she said sarcastically. "Because he seems like a decent bloke. Because he seemed pretty interested. Because I thought that you had a good time at Hogsmeade. Because pretty boys are much more interesting than the hot teacher's assignment."

She paused long enough to roll over onto her back. "Shall I go on?" she questioned with a giggle.

Obviously the pair had very different interests. Ellie just wasn't into boys the way her sister was and she just kind of sat there as the girl went on and on about that Slytherin boy. Yes, they'd had some sort of double date and it had been fun, but it wasn't like she was interested in the boy.

She shook her head and laughed. "Sure, it was a good time, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go chasing after him. You know that's just not me, Em," she told her.

Even if Ellie was the dating kind, that Jeremy bloke just wasn't really her type.

Emma shrugged.

"I know that it's not you to go chasing after a boy... but how is he supposed to come chasing after you if you're always hidden in this dorm?"

She was grinning widely as she spoke. Emma knew that she was teasing her sister and that she should, likely, let El work. However, she still didn't feel up to working... and she didn't want to sit there bored either.

Besides, it took more than one double date to know that a guy wasn't your type. It took, at least, one kiss. If lips touched and sparks didn't fly? That was when you moved on! Knowing El, she hadn't let it get that far.

"It would do you some good to go out... and, you know, do things," she told her with a smirk. "Things like spend time with that Slytherin boy - or any boy, for that matter."

Obviously Ellie and Emma had very different ideas when it came to boys and when to move on or just not start anything to begin with. Ellie hadn't ever even kissed a boy before, because it meant something more to her. She was waiting for someone special and, well, he hadn't come along yet, had he?

"I spend time with boys," she argued. "I played exploding snap with James on Valentines Day! After, you know, I accidentally hit him on the head with the deck."

She made a bit of a face and then laughed. That had been a little embarrassing, but they'd still had a good time. Then again, she always had a good time with James. He was really a good friend.

All of Emma's kisses meant something to her. It wasn't like she was using all of these blokes. She simply wasn't saving herself for Mr. Perfect - if he ever came along, that is.

However, there was a certain flutter in the pit of your stomach when lips brushed together. She loved that flutter... the excitement. She was almost addicted to it. Ellie, clearly, didn't know what she was missing.

"Exploding snap... on Valentines Day," she rolled her eyes softly. "I don't mean just hanging out... I'm talking actually relationship material-type boys and activities."

Bored, she flipped onto her back and stared up at the ceiling. "Oh Ellie," she sighed with a smile. "How will you ever find 'the one' if you don't look a little?"

Emma could put it however she liked, but kissing a lot of boys just wasn't the thing for Ellie. Of course, having not kissed a boy before, she didn't know anything about the flutter or anything, but she didn't care if she was missing out. Ellie was convinced that waiting for the right boy would make kissing a far nicer thing when she did get around with it.

"James is material," she argued, making a face, because she'd had a great time with James and he was a great friend and it had been a perfect way to spend Valentines Day, she thought.

"I don't.." she started to protest when there was a tapping at the window and she jumped up to see their owl right there. Pulling it open just enough to let the bird inside, she shivered as the burst of cold air hit.

"What in the..." She stared at the large bear attached to the twins' owl. "It must be for you, one of your many admirers for sure."

Imagine Ellie's shock when the owl made a beeline for her instead. She pulled the bear and card off of the owl, frowning in confusion as she read the ( ... )

"James is not material," she was telling Ellie. "Hanging out with your good male friend does not make him into relationship mater..." She was ready to win this bickerment with her sister when her words were cut off by a tapping at the window.

She made no move to get off of the bed but she shifted slightly to watch as her twin battled the cold air and let the owl inside.

"It must be for you, one of your many admirers for sure."
For a brief moment, Emma wished that the bear was for her. However, she knew that she'd not made that connection with anyone. Emma Daly was not the twin receiving Valentine's Day love. It was most definitely her sister!

"It's not for me," she laughed as the owl flew directly at El. "That bear is yoursShe loved her sister dearly and she'd never show it but a small feeling of jealousy grew in the pit of her stomach. Maybe she did snog 'a lot of boys' and maybe she liked snogging... but she'd never gotten something like that ( ... )

Ellie started to blush and stutter as Emma said that about James and it was good that the owl interrupted that partical conversation. Talking about James in a relationshippy way was not something Ellie wanted to do. At all.

Gifts like this were knew to Ellie, too, and she stared at the bear, still in shock. "I'm not playing.. anything," she said in an od whisper, sitting back down on her bed and absently hugging the stuffed bear to her chest.

"I.. I have no idea. I haven't been.. I mean, nothing unusual. I don't know who it could be at all."

To say she was shocked was an understatement, but it was a good shock and she couldn't help smiling. A surprise gift from a secret admirer? That was about the most romantic thing Ellie could think of.

Emma waved her hand in the air. "You're doing something, sister," she teased. "You don't get secret admirer gifts for no reason." You know, unless that was exactly how you got them. Of course, that would explain why Emma had never gotten one... she was doing something.

After a moment, she tilted her head up and grinned upside down at her sister. "Well... we'll just have to figure out who it is!"

It would be fun to investigate El's secret admirer. Besides, maybe she'd actually be able to get her sister to focus on something other than school work for five seconds.

Ellie shook her head, because she knew she hadn't done anything to warrant this. And anyway, it was a really sweet surprise, but how did they know it was even meant to be romantic.

"You don't know that it's... I mean, it could just be a joke or something, someone just having a laugh," she protested, because she still couldn't quite believe someone would be seriously sending her a romantic gift.

She was all who figuring out who it was, though, so she nodded her head at that suggestion. "Oh, we will. It's going to drive me mad, otherwise, not knowing!"

She hugged the bear to her chest and grinned.

"He is really nice," she admitted, relaxing a bit now and starting to let herself enjoy the gift, regardless of intent or anything else. In truth, she absolutely loved it.

Emma gave her sister a warm look when she expressed concern about it being a joke. "El," she told her softly, "there's no way that this is a joke."

It didn't seem very joke-like. It seemed sweet and romantic... and wonderful... and something that El would really love. If Emma ever found out that someone had given Ellie a gift like this as a joke, she'd kill them. It was as simple as that.

Still looking her twin upside down, she smiled again. "He is really nice, El," she agreed softly. "He's wonderful..." She nodded for emphasis.

The small feeling of jealousy had passed rather quickly and Emma was nothing but completely happy for her sister at the moment. She deserved to be sent special gifts... she deserved a guy that would do something like that for her. Now... they only had to figure out which guy had done it.

Maybe there was a Mr. Perfect... and maybe El had found him even if she hadn't been looking.

Ellie looked doubtful, but she knew that look her sister was giving her and she knew it was no use to argue.

"I just wish I knew who sent him," she commented, idly playing with one of the bear's ears. "D'you think I should send a response?" She glanced at the owl who was still hovering in their room.

"I don't even really know what to say to whoever it is."

This was just all so... unexpected. Ellie didn't quite know how to react.
