It was a good thing that Adrien hadn't seen him nearly tripping or else he would have laughed. Hard. Well, some friend he was. But hey, the Hargreaves he saw approaching him was looking completely composed and un-tease-worthy.

"About time," he responded. "I was beginning to think you had forgotten about me. I was horribly upset, really," he added, finishing with a dramatic sigh. His lips curled into a knowing smile as he mused about what had kept Hargreaves this time. It was amazing how often this sort of thing happened to the younger boy. He tended to humor his fellow students far too often so there seemed to be quite a few of these 'mix-ups.' Adrien really couldn't say that he knew what one of those mix ups were like. Unlike his friend, he completely lacked the ability to act like he cared about someone when he didn't.

"So what was it this time?" he asked teasingly, grinning wolfishly at the boy. "A little puff babbling about how interesting the wizarding world was? Or maybe an older Claw wanted to discuss History? Or what about a love struck lion?" He was far too amused by Hargreaves' mishaps for his own good, really.

Hargreaves bounded over to Adrien with an exhausted look, "Horribly upset? Of course, who wouldn't be?"

As Adrien questioned him, he tried to think of an answer that would seem plausible. In reality, he had simply showed up late for dinner and then had to dodge a few Hufflepuffs. . .

"Today? Merlin, who didn't? I can't keep track of all these sheep. Blabbering and talking and then this AWFUL mindless oaf of a Hufflepuff. . .perhaps that one that Preston did the silencing spell on. Not sure, seems likely. I don't pay attention anymore. But you can never keep track of all these mudbloods."

Oooh, the charmer Hargreaves had called his "friends" mudbloods and "sheep!" With Adrien, the real side of Hargreaves practically escaped. He got so tired of pretendign to be interested and talking to these wastes of time.

"Love struck lion? What rubbish. Merlin help me if THAT ever happens," he added, trying to add a sense of fun into the horror that would have caused him. The mere thought of having one of their mudbloods hang all over him made him nearly nauseous.

"It probably was the same person," Adrien responded. "I don't know too many puffs who just waltz over to a Slytherin and strike up a conversation." But then again, he didn't really consider the Puffs to be the smartest of houses so maybe there were a handful who were just that stupid. "I don't know how you manage to listen to all of 'em. You really need to learn that no, not EVERYONE is going to help you in your master plan or whatever and that it won't kill you to be rude every once in a while."

Unlike most of his housemates, Adrien really didn't see the point of always trying to be all charming and polite. Sure, there were situations that called for it and he was perfectly willing to do what he needed to get what he wanted but he had found that most of the time, it wasn't worth the effort. He was quite happy that he was capable of being rude and putting an idiotic peer in his or her place.

It did find it amusing how quickly Hargreaves changed. One minute, he would be talking civilly to someone and managing to sound truly intrigued by whatever the hell they were saying and the next he would be whispering about them behind their back.

He couldn't help but smile at the thought of some Gryffindor fawning all over the 5th year. He was half tempted to sic one his yearmates on him but that would be mean and Adrien Bennet was never mean. See the halo? Yes, he was always perfectly nice.

cough cough.

"So are we just going to stand here talking about you all evening or we actually going to do something?"

"Well, you'll be glad to know that I have nearly the entire Gryffindor house absolutely despising me," he smirked. "That should satisfy you." Not that he'd been right mean to any of them, actually. They ganged up on him, more like. Of course, he would never say or admit this.

He smirked, "You are antsy to get up in the air, you are." He slowly put his broom under him, not making any sudden movements, before shooting up into the air as fast as he could, hoping to trick Adrien.

"Well?" he looked down from one hundred feet up. "You said so."

Adrien arched a brow. "Really now. Your charm was lost on them? Who would have thought." Not that it was really all that surprising- Gryffindor hated Slytherins on principle- but he would have figured that he would have managed to at least 'befriend' some of them. Hargreaves was known for his ability to manipulate people, after all. "You must be losing your touch," he teased.

Of course he was. He felt like he hadn't flown in ages and besides, that was what this meeting was supposed to be about. Before he could reply though, Hargreaves was up in the air. Adrien glared up at the younger boy though the gesture didn't really have much effect; it wasn't like he could make out his expressions from so far away.

With a mock annoyed sigh, Adrien mounted his broom and pushed off and he quickly reached his friend. "That wasn't very considerate of you, was it?" he told him. Not that he actually cared, of course, but Adrien was nothing if not dramatic. "Desperate to get away from me already?" His hurt act was betrayed by the smile that was tugging at his lips.

"What's been going on with you anyways?" he asked, flying slowly around the boy to re-adjust to the feel of a broom. He really hadn't flown for awhile; it was a good thing that they didn't have a match coming up soon.

"What has been going on with me?" he asked aloud, watching Adrien fly around like a first year. "Oy, Bennet, are you getting a bit rusty on that broom?" he joked.

"Well," he thought, coolly hovering in one place, keeping perfect balance. "Nothing. I'm in a bit of a rut, really. So bored lately. Nobody to threaten, nobody to talk to, no plots to hatch. . ."

He stopped and smirked. "Well, actually, had a lovely chat with Rae at lunch today. Apparently she wants me to put the old 'Beckett Magic' on a Gryffindor." He frowned, "No idea how I shall accomplish that. No good, the lot of them. Stupid, too. Why she wants me to get to know one of them is anyone's guess."

"She wants me to get this bird to fancy me," he said, disgusted. "I don't DO that. It's only the truly daft ones that get all clingy to me. I don't know if I can do that purposely. Maybe by just a stroke of luck I'll catch this girl at a good time, but I doubt it."

He whined, "It makes it so DIFFICULT, this Gryffindor business. But what am I going to say to Rae? No?"

Addy scoffed. "Of course not. Just preparing myself for flying with you. You do know I always have to hold myself back, don't you?"

Nothing? How boring. He could usually count of Hargreaves for some interesting news, either from some random kid he charmed or Rae. Adrien perked up a bit as he heard him mention some plan with Rae. "Don't you get along with that Zhang girl? Jackie?" he asked. Adrien certainly wasn't going to act like he knew her; the last thing he wanted was for Hargreaves to know about his rather interesting relationship with the girl. "If you could get her to like you, I'm sure you could do it again."

"It's not hard to do," he informed him. "If you can charm practically everyone, you can get some random bird to like you. Just flirt a bit or something." Then again, the thought of Hargreaves flirting? Absolutely hilarious. He had to bite back a laugh at the thought.

"Stop whining about it. of course you're going to say yes. It'll be entertaining." He paused, tilted his head to one side. "Unless you're afraid," he goaded. "Funny, I wouldn't have pegged you for a coward."

Hargreaves crinkled his sharp nose up at remembering that aspect of his time here at school. "Zhang? Oh piss off. She likes everyone. All you have to do is smile at her and say something about Quidditch and she eats out of your hand, practically. She's a pushover."

He flew closer to Adrien, a bit confrontingly, "And I didn't get her to 'like' me!" It annoyed Hargreaves just the slightest bit that Adrien knew just got to get on his nerves. "A Fire Crab could look at her and she'd be friends with it."

"Besides, Rae says this one's a bit head-strong. And Zhang's DEFINETELY not that. I don't right know how to flirt at all. That's for those attention-hungry Hufflepuffs. Flirting is for those who lack the charm to land someone without being subtle."

He stuck his head out, bobbing it back and forth, a bit like a snake, really, with a sinister smirk on his face. "FAR from a coward. You're just jealous, Adrien! You HAVE to flirt."

He straightened out, rising higher just a bit. He sighed, looking out across the grounds, and called out, "Do you know this girl? Someone named Blaze?"
