Gwyn was in her chair by the window per usual with her head resting in her hand pretending to study Herbology. Actually she was day dreaming about how to sweet talk the Professor into raising her grade. She wondered if she could get the house elves to bake something for her to win him over with. Her mum always said the way to a man's heart was through her stomach.

She was pulled out of her dream as she heard the rustling of paper. Glancing up she saw Rae across the room and she smiled slightly.

Rae had been contemplating the room, measuring up people when she saw Gwyn across the room. Now Gwyn was a girl to keep an eye on, for she had good intentions, but sometimes she strayed a bit. Thank heavens Rae had caught her that first time in Gwyn's first year, otherwise she could of been socializing with those...other people.

Deciding that Gwyn could keep her company, she waved her over and smiled while stretching back against her chair.

Gwyn left her book on her chair and went to sit next to Rae. It had been a while since the two had spoken and Gwyn was excited at the thought of possible gossip. Especially if that gossip was about a certain Gryffindor friend of his brothers. It had been a while since she had fueled any rumors. Sitting down and crossing her legs and smiled her best smile.

"Hello Rae. I haven't seen you around much lately. Been busy?" She asked coyly. It was always best to go about these things properly.

"Oh here and there," Rae said flicking her hand around. In truth she had been finishing her homework so she could have time to properly socialize, but Gwyn did not need to know such things. It was not something to boast about, paticulary because they were in her weaker subjects.

"And you?" she inquired, tilting her head towards Gwyn, placing a hand on her chin.

Slipping into the common room much later than she intended, Alexandra furrowed her brow and frowned. Her visit to the library had taken much longer than she had expected, or intended, really. Honestly! She couldn't be too upset, however, since it meant being able to spend a bit of time on her own.

She glanced around the room as she entered, tucking her long blonde hair behind her ears. Across the room, she spotted a few of housemates, and quickly made her way to them. Intially, she had every intention of spending time in her own room, but who could resist a bit of socializing?

Gwyn tucked her legs under neath her in an effort to look more relaxed. Actually what she wanted was to skip all the social niceties and get right to the gossip. However one must play by the rules.

"As usual I've been studing and working for the paper. I haven't really had that much time to socialize. I did hear something about a mess involving Howlers. What was all that about?" She gave her sweetest smile.

"Hello." She said to Alexandra. "We were just discussing the recent Howler incident."

Rae looked over as Alexandra entered the room and immediately reflected on the fact that she hadn't spoken to her room mate in quite a while. And the fact that they were best friends was more than enough reason to solve this simple dilemma.

"The Howlers," Rae let a sly smile grace her lips while her eyes lite up from the possibilty of some juicy gossip. If anyone was glad that those Howlers had arrived, it was for one Rae, if only to discuss the secrets and to whom they may pertain. "Unfortunately I missed that breakfast, but I've heard plenty through reliable contacts." She shook her head superiorly, "To think that some people would write their secrets into a book. A shame really."

She looked up at Alexandra and raised an eyebrow, "Don't you agree?"

Nodding her head politely, Alexandra slipped into a nearby chair, swinging one leg other. Her nose immediately wrinkled in disgust at the mention of the howlers. "Oh, I heard about those, and apparently, received one. I wasn't there, but I imagine it was a fantastic show," she said slying, the grin on her fact widening. "I almost wish I'd been there t see it."

And, oh, at her next words, Alexandra smirked a little, twisting her hair around one of her fingers. "People around here aren't exactly bright, are they?" She mused a loud. "They don't realize what could come back to easily haunt them."

Gwen tensed noticibly. The books? The Howlers had come from the books? She was a complete idiot. She wondered if she could burn it possibly? How could it know she had written in it. Oh Merlin if people knew. She kept a face of contentness while her heart raced.

"So this had to do with the books floating around? And it told all their secrets?" She grinned. "I'm so sad I missed it." She pouted and looked around trying to hide the fact that her hands were starting to shake.

"I wonder how bad it was." She mumbled.

Rae grinned slyly at Alexandra, "I know. It almost sees worth it...but at that hour of the morning? All of those Howlers?" She rolled her eyes, "I'm sure it was positively a zoo."

"I heard it was horrible," she smirked, her eyes lighting up from the idea of gossip as she looked at Gwyn, "Too bad. I heard that most were anonymous...but still. Voices can certainly carry...especially those of the lesser in mind." She shot Alexandra an amused glance.

Alexandra's grin widened as she reclined in the chair a little. "I'm curious as to who thought up those silly books. They're a brilliant idea, I have to admit," she said slowly. "Jonathan said it erupted into a food fight!"

Her face wrinkled just a little. "I expected better of some of the people involved. I mean, really. Resorting to that? Pitiful."
