Week Name/Date/Time: 'Promises and Plans'/ Wednesday, October 12th / 12:45pm Location: Gryffindor Tower, Boys' Dormitory Open To: Soren Currently Involving: Jackie
Soren had been quite comfortable in his room, muching down on the sweets he had purchased during their previous Hogsmeade Weekend. He had made sure to stock up on enough that he wouldn't be running out any time soon until Hallowe'en perhaps, but by then, they would for sure have more in store waiting for them.
At the knock, Soren hopped off from his bed and shoved his stash under his pillow. If it were one of his roommates then he would have cause for worry, they demolished his treats like ... an anteater with ants! Sucked them up like those muggle vacuums, they did.
"Who's there?" He called out suspiciously, ever since that Pink Incident, Soren had been quite a bit wary on who he allowed inside his dorms. He had boobied trapped the entire door frame and even the windows, one could never be too sure!
((hope this works as I'm replying off email rather than going straight to lj.))
Jackie cocked an eyebrow at Soren's tone. He must really be on edge for him not to throw his door open and welcome a fellow Gryffindor into his humble abode. Maybe he really did smell like fish.
"It's Jackie." She bit out, stopping herself from adding, you nitwit. Then again, she'd probably be acting the same way if she smelled like fish. She sighed, and returned to her normally friendly and happy self. "Can I come in?"
He couldn't help it if he was suspicious, the perpetrator for his previous humble pink adobe was definitely the work of a Gryffindor. After all, how could anyone from another house get into their tower and better yet, into his room?
"Jackie, eh?" He unhinged two of the little 'traps' from the door and unlocked it. "I suppose you can." He held the door open to allow her entry inside, though, he couldn't help but look her over, just in case she held something suspicious. Even if she was one of his good friends, this girl also called Charlie her "BFF" and there's always something to worry with that redhead around.
Not that Jackie would ever use the term "BFF" -because frankly, the term made her gag, and she really preferred "BBF" (best best friend) instead - but having to be the buffer between Soren and Charlie, she wondered how she hadn't been split in two.
"Thanks," she replied. She entered his room, a bit cautiously, as he had told her last week that he had booby-trapped everything. Poor Bran. With Soren as his BFF, and Charlie as hers, she thought maybe the two of them should start a club... for sane people.
Besides, hadn't Avery told him about her? Shouldn't he have been expecting her? Maybe that fish thing got to his head, and was affecting his mind. She eyed him and took a step forward, sniffing the air. "What's new?"
"Okay." Jackie nodded. That would certainly be less stressful. She wasn't sure what would be worse. Bringing up the subject to Charlie and hearing her react to Soren's name, or watching her react when she found out that Jackie had known about it all along? "Um... give me some advance warning though... when you get around to it, that is. So, I can seek refuge."
She followed him to his desk and read through the terms. At least, his desk was a bit more manageable than the rest of his room, so she found it easier to find a quill and ink bottle. "Sign here, right?"
He quirked an eyebrow at her, “Sure thing.” Oh boy, it was definitely going to be a scene either way when they talked to the redhead. However, since it hadn’t happened yet or wouldn’t be happening too soon, it was probably safe for them to just forget about that itsy bitsy little detail until a much later date.
Soren’s room isn’t messy at all, thank you very much! While she read over the terms, Soren reiterated the main points; don’t ever tell a non-member, do not talk about it in public, do not betray anyone inside the group, do not… etc., etc., “Yes, sign right there.” He pointed right below the last name on the paper. “Be aware, that after you’ve signed it, you’ve officially agreed to all of the terms and if you ever happen to play Judas then.. well, I’ve already mentioned this before. You get the idea.” He nodded to her.
“If you don’t agree to any of it, you don’t have to sign it.” And that would have been cue for Soren to spring an obliviate charm on her about the whole ‘club.’
He might not think his room wasn't messy, but either the chair walked away on its own, was transfigured into something else (probably something edible, knowing the guys' appetites), or more likely was shoved under a pile of dirty robes and quidditch gear (which she wouldn't have prodded with her wand if she really wanted to).
As he spoke, she nodded along, almost rolling her eyes at the common sense. It wasn't difficult to understand, and his handwriting was actually quite legible. At least, he wasn't asking for a blood oath (a bit surprising to her considering the seriousness of the document), though even if he did, she would've still agreed. When he finally ended his speech, she smiled. "Of course." With a quick flick, she scribbled her signature underneath the last member.
She looked at him for a moment afterwards. "Mind if I ask you a question? Why didn't you tell me about this yourself?"
[ooc; BECAUSE YOUR CHARACTER DIDN’T EXIST THEN OR WE NEVER BS’ED YET! XO HOW COULD YOU PUT HIM ON THE SPOT LIKE THAT? >O ]
Soren stared at Jackie with an unreadable expression on his face; a bit surprised she would even ask that. “Because you don’t seem to take it very seriously? So far, I’ve counted more eye rolls from you than honest curiosity about this thing. I’ve been pretty much told that we have some dangerous people here within this castle, while yes, this is mainly to strengthen our defence skills, if this was let out every one whose a member would be in shit. What would you do then, roll your eyes over the situation?” He stated plainly, and simply, no other adjectives used please.
“I’m not saying that I don’t trust you, just that you don’t seem to care much.”
