I know from the way i ended my last entry it pretty much came across that I was not going to update about anything until at least sunday, but HOLY FREAKING CRAP. TONIGHT WAS SO GREAT.
We busted in about halfway through manchester orchestra's set and they were pretty good I guess. I love how everyone plays with each other. that made me so excited. Jesse playing crash cymbals!
Then of course kdev. I have a setlist here with some ~notes~ that I made...
a billion bees.
this was really good of course but stupid people were talking so kevin made his guitar twang extra loud to get peoples attention.
me and my friends
this was SO good. oh my gosh. SO GOOD.
"JESSE IS A GUY. HE CANNOT HAVE YOUR FUCKING BABIES."
Wolfs mouth!
ahahaha yes! I doodled a picture of a wolf by this one.
guy in audience"show me your dick!"
kevin: "No I will not show you my dick. You are probably one of those guys who uses the word faggot in a derogetory fashion."
(kevin seemed a little fussy)
NO TIME FLAT.
I have seen him 4 times now and he finally played No time flat. YESS
NOOSE DRESSED LIKE A NECKLACE
i sufficiently danced my ass off during this song.
Just Stay
of course a great one.
OKAY NOW THE FOLLOWING WAS PROBABLY THE BEST PART OF THE ENTIRE NIGHT.
a million people come on stage (re: brand new and manchester orchestra) and kevin says "This is a cover of a song by a band by the name of Neutral Milk Hotel" I SHIT YOU NOT, THEY ALL STARTED PLAYING LA BAMBA. AND CARRIED ON WITH IT FOR QUITE AWHILE. I was surprised by how accurately kev sang it too lol. THEN STARTED ON SWEET CHILD O'MINE, THEN WENT INTO JUMP BY VAN HALEN and we are all laughing hysterically AND THEN FINALLY
1 2 1234! Holland, 1945!
IT WAS A FUCKING SPECTACLE. THAT ALONE WAS WORTH THE THREE HOURS OF DRIVING. GOD I LOVE THAT SONG. JESSE ON TROMBONE?! SERIOUSLY! AHAHAHA OH MY GOD. FREAKING THE FUCK OUT RIGHT NOW.
Brand New was pretty good. a lot better than last summer. They didn't play Jude Law which kind of disappointed me BUT jesse opened with OH COMELY and I got chills and started to cry a little bit.
i waited FOREVER for kevin to come out to the merch booth and he finally did like, just before the end of BN but I accosted him he attacked me with hugs and we talked briefly about how i should've brought cookies because he definitely deserved them especially since he hurt his hands pretty bad yesterday :( and then he signed my 2007 tour ep with the following.
ASHLEIGH! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! COOKIES OR NOT! xoxo kevin. pretty standard kevin I guess. I waited around a little while longer but like I said, 90 minute drive home and it was pushing 11:30pm and rob has to get up at 6:30am so I intruded on his new fans to tell him we had to leave and he gave me a hug and kissed me on the cheek and I was like Aww. I think the best part of it was that he actually remembered my name this time. Aww. I have a crush on him I think. a cute nonthreatening thing i would never in a million years act on. haha. I bought two shirts and an EP. a BN shirt and a Kdev shirt that says "you were never a victim." (from a song) and I like it a lot. They had two other ones like this, with lyrics. I JUST ABOUT bought "don't kill yourself to raise the dead" because "you'll only end up joining them" is probably my favorite song off of PYGTR but it was bright red and I don't really look good in red.
wowww rambling.
I had a great night you guys. This is going down in the books. I wish things had gone better for Kev. everyone seemed kind of disinterested until Jesse came onstage *eyeroll*
but hey, I guess I would've been the same way 3 years ago.
Funny how things change, ain't it!
PS i never told you guys but I got my greencard back! deportation, here I don't come! yes!
goodnight you guys. did anybody read this shit? lol.
