almost finished

On Thursday evening, I made the word count goal of 50,000 for this year's NaNoWriMo. Yay me! However, I set my personal goal at 65K for this year, so I have a little ways to go yet. I don't know if I'll make it to 65k, but I do have to write some more because I haven't finished the story yet.

Congratulations to my LJ friends that have finished, and good luck to those of you that are still writing.

In other news, I had a great time in San Francisco. I did fall behind on the word count, but I did actually manage to get some writing done most days I was there. However, their record high temperatures were not conducive to writing; it was hard to be all moody and angsty, churning out lots of words, when there were clear skies and 80F temperatures most days! (approx. 22C). However, the fog did roll in on my second last day there, so I got back in writer mode before I came home.

I visited a lot of "tourist attractions" with my friend - including Wyatt Earp's grave site - and really enjoyed myself. I hope to take a trip back there some time soon. Not sure when, but soon.

writing, travel
