I'm sitting in Air Canada's "Maple Leaf Lounge" at Vancouver waiting for my trip to San Francisco. I had to pay an extra fee for the privilege - since I am traveling Economy not Executive - but it is worth it. For one thing, I have free internet access here!
The other nice thing about the lounge is that there are complimentary food and beverages, so I can have something to eat and not have to pay on the plane. Now, I did bring my own beef jerky and celery sticks with me, so I'll have some food, but it's nice to be able to eat before boarding.
Despite the temptation for more, I think I'll limit myself to one glass of white wine, and then stick to soft drinks or water.
I am so looking forward to this trip to San Francisco. My main reason for going is to attend the NaNoWriMo write-a-thon on Saturday evening, but I figure that since I will be there anyway, I might as well do some other tourist stuff. I'll be meeting up with one of my long-time pen-pals for some some tourist stuff as well as meeting with a former colleague.
As for my NaNo-novel, I'm not doing too badly. I'm at 25,000 words right now. I didn't do any writing yesterday and may not get much done today - unless I write on the plane. This trip in the middle of November won't throw me off my goal. In fact, I've already decided to work this into the story somehow, even if it is just as a series of dream sequences.
Time to pack up now and get ready to board the plane.
