Good Night and Good Luck

"Good night and good luck" by George Cloony is a poor man's version of Citizen Kane. It is a long, pompous and boring attempt to deal with the McCarthy era at the mid-late 50s in the States. Cloony just tries too hard when it comes to frame design and exposition (and fails) while not being able to keep a coherent and cohesive narrative or any track of the B-stories. It seems as if the director had not decided what type of movie he wanted to create. Is it fiction based on true events? is it a documentary? a mockumentary? Cloony just jumps from one genre to another making a mess of the entire movie, and it's really a shame, because the subject deserves to be properly addressed, and as we saw in the past this is more than doable.
