It is always annoying when a show you like get cancelled. It is especially annoying if the last season ended with a really big cliffhanger, or if too many loose ends were left.
Take Desperate Housewives for example. I like the show, it's okay, but nothing really major would happen if they would have pulled the plug on it. Take Joan of Arcadia for on the other hand. The show is a sometimes self-righteous (but not quite as bad as the horrific "Touched by an Angel") but its storytelling qualities cannot be denied. There is a master plan to the show. The show got cancelled after two seasons, and left its viewers with questions that will never be answered (well maybe on the DVD commentaries).
I think that if a show gets cancelled, they should have the writers tie the loose ends in the form of a synopsis or a script. Give the audience the closure they need. I think it's the least the networks can do after cancelling show.
