Another day

Quote of the Day: But Marge - it's valet! Maybe for once someone will call me "Sir" without adding "You're making a scene" (Homer Simpson)

Thought of the Day: Hot & foamed milk is one of the tastiest things there are.

So the Pats won last night. I know you all lost some sleep because of it, but there was no need. We dominated the game. It is so rewarding to see the team you like winning. I watched both games, from 22:00 to around 5:00am. Ate so much chips and salsa dip, it was bloody great. Part of the experience in watching a live feed football game is to watch the commercials, and true enough METV carried the commercials as well as the actual game. So - two weeks from now, on sunday, Feb. 6th, the New England Patriots will meet the Philadelphia Eagles, and will bust open a can of whoopass.

Okay, back to the nerdy me. For the past .. I don't know how long.. Spelljammer was talking about a weird movie he wanted to see together. The movie was talked about so much, but I never got its name.. all I knew it was some sort of an experimental cinematic experience. By a freak coincidence it turned out I have that movie sitting on my shelf for more than a year now. I didn't really realize it's the same movie until today. It's called "Koyaanisqatsi - Life out of balance". Why am I telling you all that? Because I haven't seen the movie yet. Honestly, I'm a little spooked from this movie, but anyway Spelljammer - when you're up for it, let me know.

And in our segment - things that happen to nobody but Dubi - something that happened to me in the gym.

I hate the gym. I hate people who love the gym. Gym is evil. Gym is the devil incarnated. I especially hate the people that tell you in their peppy voices how going to the gym makes them feel young and energetic. Me, on the other hand, feel by the end of a session at the gym like a doormat. So after a practice, I take some time sitting at the ijacuzzi and lying at the sauna. After that, I go back home and I'm ready for bed. So anyway, yesterday, while sitting in the sauna, some guy at the showers near by started singing out loud. That on its own merits would not get it an entry in the journal, but the guy sang in the highest soprano voice I've heard and from all the songs he could have sung, he picked "The song of companionship". There is something so surreal about that particular song in that particular place in that particular voice, I couldn't help myself. I just laughed so hard, I couldn't breath. I think I kinda insulted the guy... That'll teach him.

One last thing I learned today: If you buy 4 packs of "Supergoal" for 12 shekels - you get the 5th for free. Question is why, on God's green earth, will someone want to buy collecting cards for Israeli soccer. Nobody knows, but apparently children buy it, or to be more exact, children's uncles buy it.
