So the eve of Vappu is approaching. And I'm sitting here at the chemistry lab, waiting 'till five o'clock so I can head off to the stable. Slightly disappointed that I have no plans, and annoyed by the fact that I have to avoid the whole city center when driving home from the stable in the evening. My Taiwanese friend here at the lab invited me to a traditional Vappu brunch picnic tomorrow morning. Well, she's making sushi, so it's not so traditional in that sense, but the fact that we're picnicing in Kaivopuisto is.....if it doesn't start snowing.
Haven't been doing much lately except writing on my thesis and taking care of Gib. Gib's eye is fine again, his medication ended last thursday. And riding him lately has been so much fun, he's super-energetic and really co-operative.
Saturday-sunday evening I spent in Parola in my dad's summer house. My dad was on a short holiday to Finland, plus he needed to discuss the building of the new house behind the old one with the person who's overseeing the building project. So this summer we'll have a building site on our property. Not that I'll be there much this summer 'cause of work. Well, so I went to visit my dad in Parola. Plus took on the yearly project of cleaning the inside of my mom's car. Took me 4 hours, but now it's clean. And spent two hours bagging sawdust for the next time Gib can join us at the summer house. There's a lot of sawdust around since all the wood needed for the building project has been cut down from our own trees.
