I just realised that the number for their Correspondence Department should be on my last bill (arrived late last week) so I checked it and found it and called them. Spoke to my contact who has promised to cancel my phone today and send out a bag. Part of me is still suspicious but I am happy that seems to be resolved.

The person who agreed to cancel my contract promised to call to confirm before the date (i.e. today) to confirm that I still wanted to leave Orange. They were going to send me a pack to send my phone back in. That pack has not arrived so I cannot send my phone back ( Read more... )

I got a phone call from Orange today. They're willing to let me out of my contract provided I send my W910i back (which is OK with me). We've set a date for me to leave Orange so I'm now researching mobile phones to decide what I'm going to replace my W910i with.

They have this thing called "Best plan" where they monitor how you use your phone and every 6 months assess whether you're on the cheapest plan for your usage. I got a text on Monday stating that I could save money. I phoned Orange up and they advised me that there was a cheaper plan that would suit my usage[1]. As I said before, an Orange salesman called me in February to offer me an upgrade to the Sony Ericsson w910i. I asked him if it was reliable and he said it was.
