I'm trying to write 'fic to recalibrate my understanding of Mukuro's character. He's so slippery. Every possible situation or character relationship or even his ideals and motives, I find multiple possible/plausible interpretations of ( Read more... )

This is why bystander fic is your best friend. Tsuna POV is like my security blanket these days.

CAN WE ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT HOW YOUR RUINING CHROME'S LIFE FIC WAS BEST EVER. WHAT DO I HAVE TO FEED YOU FOR THE SEQUEL WHERE SHE ESCAPES LIKE A BOSS

NAME YOUR PRICE

OH GOD YOU READ THAT MESS?

mashes face in hands

why is my 6996 so anti-6996 sometimes, I don't even ): --

I felt like I needed to write happy fluffy things to make up for that! BUT, for all my whining, I was fairly happy with that one, too. XD I POSTED ANOTHER THING... last night/today. :O MY LONGEST ONE, etc. ffffttt, I'm blushing so hard rn, you don't even know.

I would love to write more 30-something-KHR-cast fic, but I feel like I have to re-figure out who they are TYE first. MUKURO HAS THROWN ME FOR A FEW LOOPS LATELY. Although I think I'm also accepting that Mukuro is just one of those characters who can go in many different directions with believable ease. (Which of course means I want to put him in all of them... sobs)

Bystander fic, OH YEAH, well, I'm writing Tsuna PoV as we speak. :) He's... a spastic little thing?

I'm still sitting on your hoard like it's a treasure trove :( It was just that one I couldn't resist reading right away and I STILL need to go back and fish out all the lines I liked so I can think about them and give you a proper review. For now my review is just I Really Like Your Mukuro, He's Like A Twenties Escape Artist. Also them NOT having children is one of those irreversible facts of my headcanon but look at you, making that a NON CONCERN. I love when that happens!

I really did mean it, would you write a sequel? I would write stuff for that. You know. I can be pretty versatile when I ~mean to please~

I think the different futures actually make it easy to put them in all different directions! Actually I'm surprised no one's done this, but have you read The Time Traveler's Wife? somewhat irritating book but I loved the conceit, and frankly it's kind of begging to be remade into a 6996 AU. IT'S NOT EVEN AN AU. IT'S THEIR LIFE, WITHOUT ALL THE SNIPPY CLASSISM.

lmaioasdudgvjgsd -- ohhh, the children thing is just a bit ironic given the... yeah... of that story, BUT YOU KNOW I have considered writing a version where their "domestic life" is not TOTAL bullshit. it just needed to be bullshit for THIS particular story. THE TERRIBLY IDEALISTIC SIDE OF ME wants to write a version of said domestic life where it's functionally real, but it is also sort of a pretense for them doing other things, Mr. and Mrs. Smith-style or something. (look at me being all cheesy ( ... )

I would read that! and not even like, ironically. There's a honeymoon period during which I can deal with nice domestic fics for OTPs, it's just that it never lasts very long. Since I haven't actually written much 6996 that honeymoon period has been effectively prolonged.

My thoughts on children were mostly incoherent and related to the utter weirdness that is Chrome's body with illusory organs inside it D: WORST CHILDBEARING VESSEL. WORST. But also just the general desire to retain bodily and emotional autonomy inasmuch as she can, you know, there's room for Mukuro and for herself but not much for anyone else. The whole organ thing means that she has a literal gauge of her independence by what's going on inside her, eek. Plus I think she also quietly knows that he wouldn't hurt the child, but people don't exist as ends in themselves for him, and he'd be happy to use it for his ends, just like he uses everything else he cares about ( ... )

For 6996 in particular, I always like to see a balance of normalcy over oh-god-what-the-hell is this. It's my favourite trope concerning those two, so outwardly domestic life allows for the possibility with nice, efficient ease.

Mukuro is a loser delinquent, and like any loser delinquent, I think he'd love parodying the bourgeois lifestyle up to the hilt, haha. Also he was born into it but never got to have it himself, being a lab rat, so I can see some covetousness there too.

Right? That was kind of my thinking.

I've been considering lately how, depending on what stage of life I write Mukuro at (childhood, TYE, TYL, post-TYL), the tone seems to differ greatly, and upon consideration, I believe this is because of his chameleon nature.

When he was a child in Lancia's Famiglia, I imagine him as like, the pristine little school boy, a total teacher's pet (he showed he has this potential in the secret bullet novels, I should add, so score for that interpretation!), and he was totally the precocious, adorable child who says all the ( ... )

OKAY... belatedly back. Wow, I'm feeling like my KHR experience is kind of insular these days. I wish I hadn't apparently missed so much of the fandom boat, uh? Well, whatever, I'm always late to fandoms. How are you faring with FmA fic btw? I've not touched that one in years, but I was in the fandom for the original anime, mostly.

UM, SO. YEAH. Chrome's body. I think all that is very valid and true and I've considered it to some degree, too, and I could definitely see her choosing never to have kids (have I ever mentioned I think there should be more existing stories, fandom or otherwise, dealing with the topic of elective abortion? because it is one of those Feminist Kind of Things I feel strongly about, etc.), and my keeping that road potentially open at times is really only because I like to vary my narrative options. Nothing deeper than that. (:

Speaking of 20s-ish stories, have you ever seen Baccano? I feel it might be up your alley. Full of charistmatic lunatics. ALSOOOO ALL THESE 20s references are giving me Jazz Age vibes. ( ... )

Seriously, is KHR fandom even like...alive? I don't really go looking for fic or anything like that, but the comms and things seem pretty dead. It's also the kind of fandom where it's hard to write things that are extremely distinct from one another, idk. Every single thing I've written seems EXACTLY THE SAME, which is why I never post anything :/ people go do some mafia thing, people angst about the mafia thing, people ponder their backstories, people have sex with other people who are doing the same thing, people conclude that There Is Something Worth Living For, everybody has more sex. For me at least it's...impossible to change it up ( ... )

It's alive on Tumblr. I've mentioned my Tumblr tsun, yeah? FANDOM THESE DAYS feels like it's all about posting pictures and not writing 'fic anymore. Dunno how other fandoms are faring in that respect, however. My KHR fics on AO3 do get kudos, but never reviews (although kudos are rather pleasing... I AM a fan of AO3's system), and I see new fics crop up on there with some regularity. So yeah, I think people are still reading/writing, if no longer so en masse as was once the case.

For me at least it's...impossible to change it up...I'D STILL READ ALL THAT. Especially if it's 6996. Sad to say, the fandom is sparse enough for them (or so it feels?) that this feels novel enough right now. And I ( ... )
