Seriously, is KHR fandom even like...alive? I don't really go looking for fic or anything like that, but the comms and things seem pretty dead. It's also the kind of fandom where it's hard to write things that are extremely distinct from one another, idk. Every single thing I've written seems EXACTLY THE SAME, which is why I never post anything :/ people go do some mafia thing, people angst about the mafia thing, people ponder their backstories, people have sex with other people who are doing the same thing, people conclude that There Is Something Worth Living For, everybody has more sex. For me at least it's...impossible to change it up...

For this reason that Dino/Chrome aberration is about various psychological conflicts experienced by Chrome in the realm of making her socks stay up straight. It's not even like a metaphor for anything, that is literally what it is about. I'll shoot it your way, though, and you can marvel at the immense stupidity orz

MUKURO AS LIKE A HIGH-CLASS WINO, THOUGH. I SEE THIS GREATLY. for the love of god Chrome you are too good for this fucker 99% of the time, why do we ship this? He is definitely Gatsby with like, Tsuna's entire family in general being his Daisy Buchanan (voice full of money indeed). This is making me think of Bianchi, now, Mukuro/Bianchi, I would totally read that too. This is such an unproductive line of reasoning, oh my god.

FMA fic search has been pretty unproductive! If you have any recs I would adore them ♥ I think I'm reading a different Mustang than I was supposed to. I've never seen Baccano! Have heard a lot, though, so I will look into it again. The twenties will never stop being the best era ever for ANYTHING.

It's alive on Tumblr. I've mentioned my Tumblr tsun, yeah? FANDOM THESE DAYS feels like it's all about posting pictures and not writing 'fic anymore. Dunno how other fandoms are faring in that respect, however. My KHR fics on AO3 do get kudos, but never reviews (although kudos are rather pleasing... I AM a fan of AO3's system), and I see new fics crop up on there with some regularity. So yeah, I think people are still reading/writing, if no longer so en masse as was once the case.

I'D STILL READ ALL THAT. Especially if it's 6996. Sad to say, the fandom is sparse enough for them (or so it feels?) that this feels novel enough right now. And I actually do enjoy the different potential spins on The Mafia Storylines.

As far as changing it up, that's why I like working with the different timelines/ages/etc. You pretty much have TYE, the years in between TYE and TYL, canon!TYL from the Byakuran era, the possible current-age TYL (which is where, yeah, I just start making shit up), and pre-TYE or childhood shit . . .

. . . although I do admit some characters are more appealing fare for that (sure, I love writing about Mukuro as a kidlet, but Chrome's childhood was decisively bland, and so was Tsuna's, etc). UM, and for Mukuro, I'd also draw a distinction between TYE up to the ring battles/Future Arc and current Mukuro being free. I think him running around free again in current canon has opened my mind to some brand new thematic possibilities, given what he's up to.

HOWEVER, THIS IS LIKELY ME OVER-THINKING EVERYTHING. sobs. I'm currently trying to write a story exploring how he's changed over the course of the canon that we've seen to sort of re-configure him in my head, as well as contextualizing the whole freedom issue, since WOW, the dude was in a tank for a LONG time, so long that many fics were written all about this prospect as a sort of cornerstone of Mukuro-dom. As iconic as tank-kuro is, though, I'm determined to believe his freedom offers new lines of ficcing. Overly optimistic? Maybe so.

MUKURO/BIANCHI, gurrrlll I would read that, too. I'd read all the things. ACTUALLY I HAVE TOYED WITH the idea of Mukuro/Bianchi on pure hot Italian (-ish in Mukuro's case) cred. Dino/Bianchi, too. And Dino/Chrome, hell yeah. Actually, I read a pretty nice Dino/Bianchi once.

What kind of 'fics do you have in mind for seeking wrt FmA? I can look, bearing in mind that I've been out of the fandom for years. Haha, I'm with you on the 20's love. Such an iconic era! YES, DO WATCH BACCANO.
