Title: Reclusion
Fandom: Tekken
Characters: Jin Kazama, Hikari Yoshima, mentions of Kaiya Sato
Summary: She was getting sick of seeing Kaiya like this; so she decided that she was going to get answers from him, no matter what. AKA, Hikari plays big sister.
Rating: PG-13, mostly for cursing. THEY ACTUALLY DON’T THROW PUNCHES THIS TIME, IT’S A MIRACLE.
Note: I do not own Jin, he is property of Namco. I own Hikari, and
souslalune owns Kaiya. AND THIS IS TOTALLY
kyahryorin’s fault for giving me the song that inspired this. [Reclusion by Anberlin] FUCK. IT IS A JIN SONG.
Traffic was non-existent; the recent skirmishes between the rebel forces and the Zaibatsu’s forces made that possible. The black motorcycle, emblazoned with a golden phoenix decal, darted and weaved around the highway, but not because of traffic. Debris was all over the road, causing Hikari to growl underneath her helmet as she moved around to avoid the worst of it. The stench of death and gunpowder was overfilling her nostrils, but she put the morbid thoughts that came with it out of her mind. I might as well be handing my ass over to them right now - but I need to know.
Kaiya’s behavior as of late had been worrying them all - she had snuck off to the Zaibatsu headquarters without at least informing one of them on several occasions, only to return injured in some way - at best, minor physical injuries, the worst - she had been the hospital for a week. Hikari had the feeling that there was worse before she had joined the resistance effort.
She honestly wasn’t sure if it was the fact that she saw the younger woman as a younger sister or her own curiosity, but as she got closer to the Zaibatsu, the more the knot in her stomach tightened. It’ll be a miracle if I go five minutes without punching that prick in the face, she thought with a small smirk as she dismounted.
But despite the fact that punching Jin in the face would be oh-so-satisfying, that wasn’t the reason why she was here. She wanted answers, and dammit, she was going to get them.
One way, or another.

“S-sir, we have a woman outside.”
Jin lifted his head, raising an eyebrow. “Your point? Either send her away or kill her.”
“She keeps demanding to see you, and she’s knocking out the other guards-” There was a burst of static, and several voices mingled together-
“Hey! You can’t come in here-”
“Fuck you, I need to talk with Kazama!” A few more whacks.
“Hold her down!”
“I can’t, she’s too fast-” A burst of gunfire, and the sound of something heavy colliding with another guard.
“…idiots. If they’d just listen-” A sigh, then the sounds of something being picked up, more than likely the walkie-talkie that was being used by the now-fallen guards. “Oi, Kazama. We need to talk. NOW.”
Well, that answered that question. He honestly should’ve known. “What do you want, Yoshima. I’m not in the mood to entertain rebels-”
“-it’s about Kaiya, asshole. I’m here as her friend, not as a rebel. Let me in,” she growled. Fighting off guards was getting old, fast. She automatically ducked, avoiding a stun rod that was aimed at her back before striking the offender with a rising elbow. “Knock it off!”
Jin let out a sigh. “Fine. But if I find out there’s an infiltration, I’ll execute you on the spot.”
“Just try it, dick. I’m already in a bad mood.”
He couldn’t help but smirk at her tone. And here I thought I’d be bored today.
---------
She should’ve known.
That bastard was just sitting there when the elevator stopped at the top floor- the Mishima Zaibatsu throne room. Last stop, kids. Hikari crossed her arms, taking a deep breath. As much as she wanted to beat up this guy, she couldn’t.
Not yet, anyway.
She was going to try the diplomatic approach first. Besides, she was technically a diplomat, military experience notwithstanding. She clenched her jaw, eyes narrowing. “Kazama.”
“Yoshima. So what is it that brings you here?”
“I already told you, it’s about Kaiya.”
“What about her.” He frowned slightly, why would she risk possibly getting killed just to ask about that-
“Stay the hell away from her. Despite the fact that you think of me as some sort of blithering idiot; I’m not that stupid, Kazama. Every time she sneaks out, she comes back injured in some way.”
“Have you ever thought that she just got into something she shouldn’t have?”
“Considering the fact that I’ve heard her talk in her sleep about ‘gotta go back, maybe I’ll convince that idiot yet’, I highly doubt it. You put her in the goddamn hospital at one point; you honestly think we weren’t going to figure it out sooner or later?”
He shook his head, chuckling lightly. “You’re forgetting something, Yoshima. She comes here of her own will, and I doubt she would appreciate either you or Lars keeping her from doing as she pleases.”
“Maybe so, but at least then she won’t get hurt by a coward,” Hikari snapped, her eyes flashing for a split second.
“Did she ever tell you about her past with me?”
“…what.” The question stunned her, oddly enough. She knew that Kaiya had previously known Jin before he took over the Mishima Zaibatsu, but she didn’t really expand on it. Hikari was fine with that, really. They all had their metaphorical skeletons in the closet. But from the way that Jin was insinuating it…
He let out a huff of air. Of course she didn’t tell her about them. What was especially annoying about this was that both women seemed to share the same stubborn streak, despite not being related by blood. “I thought so.”
“…don’t tell me that you were-”
He nodded. At least she was quick on the uptake.
That single gesture, that simple nod, was enough to make her feel like she was hit in the gut and pistol-whipped in the face. “Tch!” Dammit, Kaiya. I understand not tellin’ us at first…but still! At this point, this whole fiasco was just adding another reason for her to march right up to that throne and punch Jin in the face. Or even better, castrate him. “That still doesn’t give you to the right to treat her like that.”
“I’m a monster, Yoshima. You even said it yourself.”
“Since when the hell have you cared about my opinion.” She took a step forward, eyes narrowing. “I’m warning you now, Jin. You hurt her again and so help me, I will make sure you will burn for it.” The fact that he had barely moved from the throne, and the fact that her statement did nothing but make him laugh should’ve tipped her off. She should’ve known that going in the first place wasn’t going to be the brightest of ideas.
So what was blinding her to reason?
“You think you can do that? You’re just the Ambassador to an island country that’s only been avoiding the brunt of this war because before now, Fortuna was nothing to me.” He shook his head once, watching her. He had to be careful how he worded this. He wanted to see why she was so interested in defending Kaiya’s honor like this, as well as why she was still fighting, even after everything he and Kazuya had done to her and her beloved people. “And even now I’m wondering if it was even worth it to have you get involved in this.”
“You should’ve thought of that before threatening Fortuna if I didn’t join your stupid tournament.” What the hell was he getting at, his questions and statements were starting to go all over the place. She clenched a fist, holding it for a couple seconds before relaxing. Patience…there’s got to be a point to this.
“Perhaps I should have. And yet even after both Kazuya and I have attacked your people, sent those you cared about into intensive care- you’re still fighting. Most would’ve quit by now and accepted their fate.”
Hikari’s jaw clenched at the mention of the attacks, as well as Odyssius’s hospitalization. Yeah, real sorry, jackass. You were the one that decided to turn into a demon and nearly kill my best friend, if only to attempt to get a rise out of me. The next words were strangled; she had to force them out in order to keep herself from attacking blindly. “What can I say… I don’t like giving up when the stakes are high.”
“You and Kaiya both could stand to learn a lesson about that- your persistence is going to get you both killed.” Jin could feel the air getting hotter within the room- she was beginning to get angry. Just a bit more.
“Since when have you cared?”
“I don’t. Not about you, at least. Though I’m curious- why are you so adamant about defending Kaiya?”
“She’s my friend and comrade. Don’t tell me I don’t have the right to actually give a shit about someone,” Hikari snapped, her arm tensing up. The urge to punch him was getting stronger, they had to wrap this up- quick.
“By all means, go ahead. But you do realize that when she finds out about this, she’ll more than likely hate you for it? Honestly, you should just stay out of it.”
Her eyes widened as she stood in front of the throne, the air around her body stifling. Her eyes were glowing gold again as well. Jin never thought he would ever meet someone who had such unusual eyes. “I don’t care, Kazama. If it means she doesn’t get hurt by you…I’ll do it. She doesn’t deserve this.”
“Do what you want, then.” He looked bored as he looked up at her through his bangs. Even though he looked impassive, the sheer heat from her anger was beginning to get to him. But that wasn’t right, the other times that she had done this, he was fine.
So what was it about this time that made it so different?
Hikari let out another “Tch!” before turning, getting ready to leave.
“She’s not a replacement for her, you do realize?”
The sudden question caused Hikari to turn, eyes widening, then narrowing. “What?”
“…nothing. Have fun,” he dismissed, watching as the woman began to descend down the elevator, back to the lobby.
Hikari didn’t say anything as she began to go down, only turning her head to glare Jin over her shoulder. The next time that she saw him, she hoped that it would end in a more desirable result- like her punching his lights out.
Yeah.
That’d be great.
The guards waiting at the bottom were poised as the elevator doors opened, but when they did, the woman that they were warned about was on fire. Hikari smirked as she saw her 'escorts'.
“Nice parting gift, Kazama.”
