Because I was making this face internally today

Classes:

5th grade: I showed up to class and no one was there. In fact, two girls were running back to get their pencils and were like WHAT? ENGLISH CLASS?! SENSEI FORGOT!!! And so I followed them to the computer room where the teacher was like I TOTALLY FORGOT UH OKAY EVERYONE BACK TO THE CLASSROOM. We lost some time but it didn't really matter - the lesson still went pretty well.

4th grade: Again, I show up to the classroom and NO ONE IS THERE. But this time it was due to an accident in science class (which is held in its own work room) so everyone was late in getting back. Again, we lost some time but the kids still had fun, especially when I pretended to be an actress (que Mission Impossible music, me shooting someone, and then professing love to a 10 year old boy who promptly fell out of his chair). So it went well. I am glad Kaji sensei knows how to improvise.

6th grade: These kids know their English; I would describe a country's flag and they'd call it out. Example: "red, white, blue, BIG star." Kids: AUSTRALIA!!! Me: YES! GOOD JOB!
They then got to fill in a work sheet via writing or picture drawing, with the name of the country they wanted to go to, the flag, and why they wanted to go. Italy won overall. They want to see soccer, eat pizza/spaghetti, drive ferraris, and play volleyball. One girl, the one who wanted to play volleyball, wrote it entirely in English. Though her grammar was wrong, she would get me to correct her spelling and then repeat it to me. I probably should have fixed her grammar but as they start English all over again in middle school, I figured if I could get her spelling going okay, then that was fine. They seriously liked this game and though there was probably a lot of Japanese, and not too much English, the fact that they did it and walked around made me happy. Also, Hirashita sensei can not draw koalas, but I can.

1st grade: For the third time today, I was met with WHAT, ENGLISH CLASS NOW?! This time they were all there but they were getting ready to do something else and I'm like 8D; After a quick conference where it was realized we HAD to do English this period due to scheduling, we got going. (The kids were like WE WANT TO DO ENGLISH. LET'S DO ENGLISH. IT'S BETTER TO DO ENGLISH. I am obviously the fun teacher.) This lesson went pretty well too. Really, all the lessons went well today I think.

And you know why?

BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN SLEEPING AND THERE ARE NO MORE FEVERS. I AM NORMAL AGAIN. HELL YES.
Normal Jessica = the excellent ALT they all know and love.
Fuck yeah.

But seriously, almost all of them forgot we had class today. It's ON THE BOARD. ON TWO BOARDS AND ON MY DESK ACTUALLY. How they can miss it, I don't know. Hence the Yoshiki icon.

Also, somebody made off with most of the extra milk packs. >/ I wanted some dangit!

Now the question is, do I finish off my medicine, or stop now that I feel better? =/ One type is an antibiotic, which, I think, you don't always finish? I'm not sure...the other two are cold medicines, which I probably don't need anymore.

Funny fact: in a group of three siblings, the oldest one (a student of mine) and the youngest (think a two, possibly three year old) are the most willing to give me high-fives. The middle child is the shyest. Crazy huh? But no, one of the girls I teach was at the doorway with her mom and two younger sisters. Mom and student were OMG JESSICA SENSEI (every student/parent of a student/and possibly my coworkers, shout my name at me when they see me, EVERY TIME. It doesn't matter if they just saw me an hour ago, I am still such a sight to behold that they got to proclaim my name. Every time.) and this lead to HELLO!! exchanges and high fives, with the baby like HELL YES HIGH FIVE WHITE WOMAN! I had to get the middle child to do it with persuasion.

It's raining and cold. DX

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh. That's it. FOR NOW.

good day, kumano, work, japan
