How Adam Lazzara can afford to "suck" live

After seeing taking back Sunday perform in numerous live videos I saw something magical. First in the Nolan/cooper era I noticed that most of the band members didn’t move that much. Lead guitarist eddie reyes would faithfully reprodce his sounds on stage, while simultaneously shaking his entire upper torso in violent up and down movements. ( Read more... )

It isn't a problem that he moves around, its a problem that half the time he isn't singing. I'm all for seeing an interesting and fun show, but you can keep the show fun, energetic, and still perform the song. My definition of a tight band is one that can perform their studio versions just as good live, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have to just stand there. I'd rather see someone unpredictable that still performs their songs up to par, rather than someone flip out and not sing. It makes it seem like they're just shit and the only way they can make a song good is in the studio (all bands that do this, not just TBS). Take Andrew from soco for example, he is the most unpredictable person i have ever seen live, and he still sings the songs and plays the piano, and doesn't just sit there. Adam has a long way to go and I believe that people go to shows to have fun and listen to music, not watch Adam swing the mic and hang upside down while the background vocalist is the only one singing. Maybe Adam got better, but in the past, he sucked at performing his music. So when people say he sucks live they mean he cant perform his music, not that he is boring.

but if he was good live and didn't swing the mic, it just wouldn't be taking back sunday. It makes them unique in a way...
just my opinion

Oh and about not singing, I wasn't refering to the warped tour show, I was refering to him in the past.
