Junsu had a favourite toy.
It was red, tiny and shiny. With a sharp silver blade that was ready to nick and prick your skin if you dared to touch it.
CHAPTER 6
A figure made its way slowly to the snow-covered field. It was the winter holidays and nobody was present in the vast expanse of land usually being used as a soccer field by the high school students.
Nobody besides Junsu, that is.
He had been walking mindlessly since he went out from the house, body too numbed to even feel the chill of the cold biting on his skin, mind too exhausted to even think beyond the fact that Yoochun had finally left him.
He longed for his toy.
Before he knew it, his feet had taken him to the familiar soccer field in his high school. The cursed place in which he had spent so much time in during his high school. The place that he had put so much of his heart and his life into, just to lose them all in return.
Staring blankly to the beautiful expanse of white he tried to think of what would his life be now that he was truly alone again. But his mind refused to cooperate… all that it supplied was the thought of…
How beautiful would it be if this immense white landscape would be stained with the ruby liquid of his?
He had laughed at that thought. It seemed that he was becoming psychotic and insane sooner than he thought. He could just feel the claws of insanity reaching for him tirelessly… now that he had no more Yoochun to shield him from it.
He longed for his toy
He unconsciously lifted his strappal-covered hand, looking at the dark brown cloth that had now turned into dark reddish brown instead of its usual dark brown. Frowning, he had just realized that he had forgotten to bandage his newest scar and that the reddish brown colour was not as pretty as the streaks of red on the white surface.
Well, he knew that he ought to do something… like calling somebody or attempting to stop the bleeding on his hand or …
But he just couldn’t be bothered to do anything. It’s not like anybody would care.
He turned his sight back to the white field while one of his hands tugged the now sticky strappal off his wrist, not wanting to stain the brown cloth further.
And he felt tired… so tired….
I wonder if anybody will mind if I just fell asleep here.

Yoochun could only sit down and stare numbly as he waited for Jaejoong to make a phone call to the police, reporting Junsu disappearance. His mind was still thoroughly shocked with his recent discovery of the contents of Junsu’s drawer.
Sets of razors lined up nicely on a piece of velvet cloth. Paired neatly with sets of glinting blades…
It was obvious that his husband had thought of those razors and blades as a part of a precious collection. And putting two and two together, now Yoochun just had an idea of what actually happened to his husband. What led to those rolls of bloodied gauze now lying innocently on the wooden table in their living room.
He… blamed himself for not knowing, for not noticing how troubled his husband actually was. He wondered how much of this… destructive behavior was caused by him… because he wasn’t strong enough to be unable to resist the temptation in the form of Jaejoong.
“Chunnie…”
He looked up at the sound of his name being called. Jaejoong was looking at him worriedly. Usually, he would be thankful at the presence of the older man who always seemed to know what to do to soothe him over, but today, the mere touch of his fingertips had ignited his guilt so much.
He flinched.
Jaejoong looked hurt at the obvious rejection. But he quickly composed himself. It was not the time to fight over this small matter. Now there was a more important matter for them to attend.
“Chunnie… they’ve found Junsu…” The raven haired beauty bit his lip to swallow his retort when he saw his lover immediately jumped in attention at the mention of the other man.
“Where…”
“He is in the hospital right now. When we called in, a man had just reported that he found a man lying in the middle of the soccer field and he just brought him to the hospital…”
Jaejoong was silent for a moment while Yoochun looked at him expectantly, silently urging him to continue.
“He… the man who found him is the groundkeeper of the school… the police said the man whom he found was only wearing his pyjamas and was… bleeding severely from his wrist… I’m guessing that is Junsu…”
Yoochun closed his eyes at the mention of severe bleeding from the wrist and forced himself to swallow his saliva a few times. “Y, well… I guess it is Junsu alright… H, he is alive right?”
Jaejoong shrugged his shoulders. “The police officer didn’t tell me that much. He just… confirmed whether he was the Junsu we were looking for and he gave us the hospital name…”
Yoochun dazedly wondered whether he should be hysterical right now. His life was turned upside down in a matter of hours. His husband was literally dying and he just figured that the man had a severe case of suicidal tendency. His lover was undoubtedly feeling hurt by his ignorance of him and his decision to think about his husband first. He, himself…
Last night, his biggest problem was only the stressful episode in the office. Hell, he didn’t even think that his affair would be blown up this early! He just… just…
Sighing, he gathered all of his wits and tried to focus on the problem in front of him. Now, what he had to do was to go to the hospital and ensured that Junsu was oka… well, at least he would still be
alive…
The possibility of his husband dying chilled him to the core.
“Chunnie?”
He smiled weakly to Jaejoong, grateful at the patience of the other man for remaining by his side despite everything. “Well, I guess… we need… I need… to go to the hospital right? To see whether he’s… alive or d…”
He choked on the words. There was difference between thinking of the possibility and saying it out loud. By mentioning it, it seemed like it was… real… final.
His lover just sighed and patiently guided him to the door, ignoring the slight refusal on his touch. He grabbed the hanging car keys along the way and lead Yoochun to his car.
“Yes, we’re going to the hospital. And I’m going to drive,” He said with finality.
Yoochun vaguely thought that it might not be a good idea to let his lover drive him to the hospital to see his husband. But his mind was too fuzzy to think. All he wanted was for everything to just be a dream… That he would wake up with Junsu in his arms and kiss him awake like usual…
So he let Jaejoong drive.
