[there's some rustling heard; Gaara's still trying to figure out how the journal works. give him a minute...]I finally succeeded in joining the Convoy. I wish I had known how large the ship was beforehand though. I ended up getting... completely lost just trying to find the restrooms. Fortunately enough I met a crew mate-- Rock Lee, I think it was-- who more than happily assisted me. He's a bit...strange, but helpful, so I repayed him with a sparring match, since he seemed so enthused by the idea. Again, he's very strange.
But he was incredibly strong. And fast. Even if he hadn't accidentally kicked at my old wound, I doubt I would have been able to pull off a win, especially holding back as much as I was. He's the first in four years to get past the sand shield...and he managed it twice. Lee did seem sincere enough in his apology, though I took a little while to understand why he was apologising at all, and insisted on checking my injury for me.
I knew that it would be nothing-- which it wasn't-- but Lee still said I should see a doctor for it. I don't see why; seeing doctors has never done me any good before. And he acted very...odd the whole time he was looking at my injury. Odder than he had been acting previously, anyway. I believe the word is 'embarrassed.' I have no idea why he would be embarrassed over something like that. I suppose he really is just a strange person. He gave me a jar of ointment for the pain in my ribs, which is working very well. I'll need to thank him for it later. [a pause.]
It was an...interesting first day, overall. I might just enjoy my stay here yet... [more rustling, and the journal cuts off.]
