I discovered estate sales yesterday. There was one 2 streets down from my house that my mom ran across and she called me from there. This woman and her husband had lived there forever and every single thing in the house was original 1950's in perfect condition. It looked like the set from leave it to beaver...but more colorful. So I bought one of those classic 50's dining room sets. The vinyl and aluminum lined ones that I was told everyone bought when they got back from the war. The seats have a green, gold, brown, yellow and blue pattern on them. They are in perfect condition. I don't know if I want to keep it or sell it because those things start at 300 to 400 dollars for just decent condition. I also bought an old sofa one seater with a matching ottoman. It's also green, blue and gold. I found an old record player that actually works and it came with mini speakers. There was a beach boy record in it and they guy told me to keep it. haha.
I was so happy. I have a lot of stuff for the living space I don't have yet.
Anyway, I got all of that for $51. I was happy.
Somethings going on with my mom. She's cracking. As the last of her 44 years of 5 children, we've been used to having to deal with her resentment topped with the natural maternal cling to what is left of her kids....but lately she's just been out of the normal crazy. Yesterday I called her rude, which was an understatement, and I really thought she was going to rip the hair out of my head and strangle me with it.
I was so happy. I have a lot of stuff for the living space I don't have yet.
Anyway, I got all of that for $51. I was happy.
