いろいろとありがとう、浜尾京介。

Hi.

This is my first public post in years. In fact, since I first went Friends Only over five years ago, I haven't made a public post.

A lot of people have added me over the years, and I haven't added back all of them, because I know they just came here for the Takumi-kun stuff. I'm sorry that the first post you are going to see from me is not a happy one.

Back when I was an active fandomer, I was most known for being one of the most informed/updated followers of Hamao Kyousuke. Since he first stepped onto the Japanese entertainment scene in 2007, he's been one of my most favourite guys. Heck, my current username is because of him.

Mao has given us six wonderful years of his infectious smile, innocent charm, developing talent, and -- as he grew out of his fresh-from-high-school self into the young adult he is today -- adorable-turned-sexy good looks.

(I lament the "developing talent" part the most: admittedly, he was not naturally talented from the beginning like most of his colleagues, but in the past couple of years you could clearly see how fast he had been improving. I look forward to eventually seeing Messiah.)

In an emergency broadcast via Amesuta on Oct24, he announced that he is retiring from show business. The entry posted by his staff can be found here (which I will no longer translate, as all it contains is announcements on his retirement and upcoming events). No reasons were given in the post. As of the time I made this post, I haven't yet seen the broadcast, so right now I don't know if he said anything. Apparently, he had cried a lot and had thought long and hard about his decision to retire from acting.

He will still be appearing in publicity events for his current projects up until February.

Thank you for six years of entertainment, Hamao. Thanks for choosing to share your passion for acting and for life with your fans. Whatever you choose to do with this next chapter of your life (rumours have reached my ears eyes, in the half hour since my friend drkparadise alerted me to the news, that he intends to study law? Huh, interesting thought), we wish you all the best!!

Good evening everyone

Today was the bi-weekly show of Busaiku Kingdom

Today was really fun as well.

Each time, I'm thinking,
A lot of people come to watch

I'm filled with a sense of gratitude.

Thank you very much.

I already said this during the premium broadcast, but there will be a broadcast tomorrow at 7pm on NicoNama.

Please watch if you have the time. [1]

Yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

This is short again.

[1] My first translation of this line sounded like a command. I can't have translated it right. O_o IT CONFUSED ME.

=======

Here is a post from Kobayashi Yutaka, one of his kouhai at Fortune Entertainment, and who co-starred with him in the fourth Takumi-kun Series movie (as Yoshizawa Michio). You may also recognise him as Mizuki Hajime in the TeniMyu reboot, and as the main man in the currently running Kamen Rider Gaim.

Mao-kun

Today, my sempai at the agency
[Hamao Kyousuke]-kun
announced that he would be retiring from public entertainment activities.

I was also surprised at this sudden news.

And, with that,
there are a lot of things I remembered!

When I first entered the business,
on the day of my audition
I had watched one of Mao's events.

The novice me
At Mao's event
I did an interview on the spot

For the event
I was also the moderator

Other things
The stages we stood on together
And the songs we sang together.

There are really a lot of memories...

This is our very first photoshoot.

I'll do the things that I want to do.

The determination this time around,
"That's just like Mao", I thought!

Mao-kun faces everything with all his strength, so
If what he wants to do doesn't fit, [1]
He chose to retire, huh.

I support him!

Even if he no longer does anything in entertainment,
He gives happiness to a lot of people, I think!

And, that kind of Mao-kun,
I want to meet him again,
And I want to support him.

The sempai that I look up to!

Mao-kun
Do your best!

[1] Okay, this confused me, and so this one is a very loose translation, but it's the gist. (Thank you to drkparadise for helping me with this one.)
