Title: Lazy Summer Days
Summary: Seeing what Filch does over the summer
Characters/Pairings: Argus Filch, Mrs. Norris, the Giant Squid
Rating/Warnings: G
Word Count: 478

It was coming to be fall again and the chill had entered the morning and evening air. Overnight was becoming quite frigid and a bit uncomfortable. Filch looked out of the castle again, his beloved cat weaving between his legs like a shadow. Mrs. Norris hopped up into the opening of a window, purring loudly. She batted at the stained glass and Filch leaned forward to squint outside. "Oh yes," he reached down to pet the cat. "I see the squid flipping about in there. You know what that means. Those rotten kids will be back shortly. They'll be setting off their dung bombs and bat bogey hexes." The old man sighed. "Come now, Mrs. Norris. Let's go back down to the lake."

The cat jumped out of the window and the unlikely pair walked through the castle. They took a stop at Filch's office where he tidied up his Kwikspell courses. He'd spent all summer working on them when the castle didn't need maintenance and was feeling very good about it this year. Perhaps this would be the time he could master magic and move on to bigger and better things.

Heading out again, Filch took his wand or, something that resembled a wand at least. It probably didn't have a core and was just a piece of whittled down wood, but to Argus Filch it was the world. He strutted out onto the green outside and made his way toward the lake. "Why hello, Mrs. Norris!" He bowed to the cat, pretending it was a student at Hogwarts. "How do you do, today?" With a rheumatic laugh, he waved his wand pretending to scatter the leaves about. It was really just the wind marking the beginning of fall and change from what was to what is.

The Giant Squid made a noisy splash as if in response to the Castle Caretaker. It would dive down to the inky depths before rising up and splashing about almost happily. Even the squid was taking the time to enjoy the last days of heat and moderate silence. It was almost as if he was trying to commune with the cat and man on the shore, to play some kind of game.

Mrs. Norris ran back and forth, and climbed up a nearby tree. She flicked her tail lazily, looking out towards to Lake. Cautiously she watched the other animal enjoying itself, flicking her ear to catch the sound of Filch's footsteps approaching. With as spry jump, she landed on his shoulder then hopped to the ground, trailing along beside him yet again.

"Come on, Mrs. Norris. Nothing left to be done out here." From somewhere Filch had produced a bag which was now full of litter that had blown in with the wind. "The bag is stuffed, love, and that squid is getting mighty boisterious again. I don't want a repeat of early July."

Title: I’m to sexy…
Summary: Lucius practices his runway walk
Characters/Pairings: Lucius Malfoy
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 if only for mature ideas
Word Count: 481

Lucius Malfoy was not normally the kind of man who would get nervous. He took deep, calming breaths to steady himself. Cautiously he picked up his wand and admired it for a few moments before sliding it into the cane he so often walked with. Gracefully he stood up and the curtain of silver blond hair fell around his face.

He counted to ten. Lucius knew at this exact moment the Manor was empty except himself, and one single House Elf. That rotten little creature knew that if he was anywhere but in the basement being entirely silent it was likely that he would be punished for weeks if not longer.

Running a hand down the front of his tailored jacket, he smiled to himself. Tapping the cane on the ground he properly set the mood. When he stepped out into the hallway it was dark on the sides with the lights overhead almost blinding. He heard some strange but accurate Muggle Music (his secret weakness) and began to strut.

In his head, Lucius heard the roar of the crowd. He was wearing the finest outfit in his closet, which he pretended was designed by him as well. In fact, if he was honestly going to do this, he would Polyjuice all the models so that every single person that walked the stage that day would be him. Oh, how brilliant would that be! A dozen Lucius Malfoys flouncing down the runway in the finest wizarding attire!

Upon reaching the end of the hall, er, runway, Lucius posed. He took a few extra 'picture options' that would properly show off the best sides of his clothing. Turning around his hair flew out again in some strange halo before he began the trip down the hallway towards his room. He all but pranced back down and slipped into his room. Inspiration had hit Lucius Malfoy, however, and he changed his clothing as quickly as he could. Looking in the mirror he did up his hair differently with his wand and quickly ran back to the hall. Pausing only a moment for another composing breath, he was off yet again.

This time he had also charmed the mirrors in the hall to reflect him brilliantly. Instead of doing a current, accurate reflection, it was himself in the crowd cheering. The copy Lucius' where all but throwing themselves at the blond screaming with enthusiasm. When he posed at the end of the hallway and winked at one, the mirror Lucius swooned and fainted.

The scene grew more and more complex as Lucius completed his collection. Once he was finished, and very tired, Lucius sat in his room in a dressing gown and smiled. Picking up an old picture, he saw a preteen version of himself with another attractive blond both of whom where dressed very well. There were a few few days that he really did miss Gilderoy Lockhart.

Title: UnCommonroom
Summary: Hufflepuff Common Room!
Characters/Pairings: n/a
Rating/Warnings: G
Word Count: 483

Only a Hufflepuff knows how to tickle a pear. The pear in mention was in a still life paining just by the kitchens. It had plenty of other fruit to keep it company, but only the pear was ticklish. Once passing through the portrait and down the earthen tunnel the lighting was raised and there was the bright yellow and pitch black of Hufflepuff.

Yellow couches were all across the room and in front of the fireplace. Black wood accented everything and was what the tables were made out of. There was a study corner with black wood chairs covered with yellow "H" coverings on the seat.

Near the far wall were many banners showing many past Hufflepuff victories! There was Helga Hufflepuff, of course, with a wonderful feast behind here. There was a picture of the Fat Friar as he had looked in life and even he was wearing yellow and black. This wall was lined with numerous other witches and wizards that had helped to shape the House and allow it to be what it is today. There is also a banner with several badgers on it, which was charmed to be interactive like many of the other portraits in the castle. Often a homesick first year would be found her, curled up in a black poofy chair watching the cute badgers run about in their tapestry.

On the far side of the room was a series of tables which almost always had food on them, it seems the House Elves still held a soft spot for the Hufflepuff House. There were different types of items on each table at different times of day, which was the greatest during exam times when the Badgers were up at all hours studying. Though, there did always seem to be a set of freshly baked cupcakes.

The entire room had a warm, earthy smell. It was brightened up considerably with not only the yellow accents but the sconces on the wall that always held candles in them. There were a few chandeliers that hung from various parts of the ceiling which also held candles to light the way.

At the farthest end of the room, on opposite sides, were two round barrel top doors. Upon entering them you follow another earthen tunnel downwards. On the left and right were other smaller tunnels leading to the dorms of the girls or boys by year. The rooms were rounded out with plush beds for each student. There were tiny desks for personal study as well as holding personal items. Each bed had a yellow "H" comforter and a black trunk stored at the bottom. Around the walls were carved in wardrobes for the students to keep their clothes in and often where cats chose to curl up in. Nothing was forgotten, and each space was tailored to the individual student. Helga Hufflepuff wanted all to be welcome in her House.
