Summary: Seamus Finnegan feels helpless and lonely in an almost empty dormitory

The dormitory was a lonely shell. Seamus recalled sweet memories of wizarding animal crackers and games of exploding snap. Now, it was just him and Neville, who currently had his hand dangling in murtlap essence.
Suddenly, Seamus had an idea. He sprang into action and began digging through his trunk before pulling out a battered, yet still shiny poster of some curiously still characters. "C'mon Neville, let's decorate the Common Room."
It wasn't much, but the West Ham footballers seemed to be smiling at this small act of rebellion. No one would tell him that Dean Thomas couldn't be his mate.

"All righ', Second Years an' up - follow yer prefects to the carriages. Firs' Years - follow me!" boomed Hagrid down the platform.
Scorpius watched a group of first years scuttle by, practically jogging to keep up with Hagrid's huge footsteps. He could hardly believe it had only been one year since he'd been one of them. He hoped he hadn't looked as lost and clueless... he shook his head. No, he was a Malfoy. Malfoys never look clueless.
Raising his chin a little higher, walking tall, he approached the carriages. Upon arrival, his proud jaw promptly fell. "What are those?" he indicated the skeletal winged beasts strapped to the carriages.
His Slytherin friend looked at him quizzically, "Er... you okay, Malfoy?"
"Don't look at me like an imbecile! What is that? If that oaf Hagrid thinks I am going to get into carriage pulled by that he is very much mistaken. My father will hear about this."
"Oh, you shouldn't worry about that," a gentle voice responded, "they're totally harmless. I've read all about them. My father and mother rode them from Hogwarts to The Ministry once. You're just as sane as I am."
Scorpius rolled his eyes before reluctantly climbing into the carriage and taking the seat beside Rose Weasley.
