It was the fifth year at Hogwarts for Lily Potter. Her older brother had graduated and she was soon going to be the last of the Potters to attend the Wizarding school. Every year, like most students, she looked forward to starting a new school year. She had wonderful friends and could always find something fun to do. So when she boarded the train at Platform 9 3/4, her smile was so wide it could almost be seen from miles away.
Until she bumped into someone she had been trying to avoid. She looked up at the young man with platinum blond hair. His light eyes looked into hers and he scoffed. "Watch where you're going, Potter," he said. Scorpius Malfoy was the meanest and most undesirable boy she had ever met. According to stories from her father, Scorpius had obviously taken after his father, Draco: not only in appearance but also in personality.
Scorpius was a Slytherin, unsurprisingly. He wore this look about his face that suggested he smelled something foul and he was often followed by a posse of half-giant-sized boys who threatened to flatten the face of anyone who stood in their way.
Lily stuck out her tongue at him, a childish gesture but a brave one either way. Not many people stood up to Scorpius Malfoy and Lily, a feisty young girl of fifteen (taken after her mother, probably), was just the kind of person who would do that.
"Maybe you should not get in my way, Malfoy. Or what, are you following me?" she dared to say. She enjoyed making Malfoy blush, sending him off track. She knew that she was one of the prettiest girls in her year and Malfoy, an older boy who often fancied girls from earlier years, was one of those who, even though he hated her, couldn't ignore her beauty.
"Wouldn't be following someone like you," he said and walked away.
Lily looked back to where her older brother, Albus, was. She smiled and waved at him. "I'll see you around, Al. No need to follow me." Albus smiled and nodded. Lily turned around and walked in the direction Malfoy had gone.

Lily Potter was not one to fall in love easily. She was the kind of girl who dated and kissed boys but actually having feelings for them was out of the question. She admitted that at one point she had a crush on an older Ravenclaw boy but after he left to become an Auror, she hadn't even given him further thought.
Her father, Harry Potter, was a well-known Auror (although Lily never understood why he was so famous. He never told any of his children about his years at Hogwarts. All he said about them was that "It had been really hard, since I didn't do my homework on time," but Lily always considered this vague and boring, which made her want to enjoy her years at Hogwarts however she pleased) so Lily was popular in school along with her other brothers and cousins. Hugo, her favorite cousin by far, was the most intelligent student in their year. Often, her brothers and cousins looked out for her but Lily always ended up doing what she wanted, regardless of what they would say.
Which is probably how she got into this mess in the first place. Of course, when she was around her family, she had to pretend she hated that Scorpius Malfoy for many reasons. One, he was a Slythern and those Slytherins were notorious for being wicked and evil. Two, he was the son of her father's rival. She knew that her dad wouldn't have much of a problem with Draco now, but still, she didn't feel like telling him that she was seeing Scorpius.
She arrived a few minutes later after she had settled into her dormitory. The sorting feast had gone well but she was eager to see him so as soon as it was done, she checked in and out of her dormitory. They had agreed to meet at the Room of Requirements, a room one of the elves had told her about (the elf had also mentioned that it had been burnt down at one point but it was now fully restored thanks to the magic secrets it contained). She closed her eyes and walked towards the door, thinking hard of what she wanted the Room of Requirements to do for her.
Give me a room where we could meet.
Almost instantly, a door was fashioned out of thin air. Lily smiled and took into a run, reaching towards the door with stretched hands and opening it. Inside, it was like a cozy cabin. There was a fireplace set in one wall and there were blankets and cushions on the floor. A small stove in a corner stood with a brewing tea pot and Lily breathed in the sweet aroma of vanilla. In a small table in front of the fireplace were two tea cups. Lily took them and poured a good amount of tea into them (she noticed it was sweet apple cinnamon tea, and although it was nowhere near winter, the warmth of the tea satisfied her).
She heard a soft knock on the door and she skipped towards it. Whenever she saw Scorpius, her insides turned into jelly and she had to keep from smiling. She didn't know exactly when it was that she and Scorpius had formed a friendship and she knew even less when they had started liking each other in a romantic way, but somehow between the dungeons and making each other's life impossible, it had turned into more.
Lily checked herself in a mirror (she hadn't noticed it before and she suspected that it had just appeared for her benefit) and arranged her wild red hair. She looked down at her plain robes and wished she had something prettier to wear. As if the Room had listened to her very wishes, a beautiful blue dress replaced her robes. She thought it was too fancy but didn't care. Scorpius wouldn't be able to take her eyes off of her.
She opened the door and saw Scorpius standing right outside. He smiled a mischievous smile at her and then stepped closer to hug her. She loved the way his warm body felt against her, reminding her of how much she had missed him this summer.
"Hello," he said in his wonderfully rich deep voice. He kissed her lips before she could say anything else. And of course, every time he kissed her, she became paralyzed. It was something about the way he tasted, so differently, from everybody else she had ever kissed.
"Hello," Lily replied. She hated the way she got whenever she was around Scorpius: she never knew exactly what to do with herself. But nevertheless, Lily was always good at lying and pretending she was fine whenever she wasn't so that obviously made things better. "Come," she said, taking Scorpius's hand and leading him to a corner that was cushioned with soft pillows. She handed him the cup of tea and then they both sat down.
"I've missed you," he said. Lily smiled. She believed those words even though she knew that Scorpius had been with many other girls during the summer. It didn't bother her as much as she thought it should because she had been with many other boys. It all was part of pretending for their families.
Lily didn't respond right away, she was overcome with the urge to kiss him and touch every inch of his beautiful body but she knew she had to keep composure, at least until they had fallen back into each other the same way they had to do every time they spent the summer apart.
"How was your summer?" Lily asked. She traced figures on Scoripus's arm, watching as the hairs stood where she touched him.
He nodded. "Uneventful enough," he said. Lily knew that a Malfoy's summer wasn't ever uneventful. She suspected that Scorpius wasn't telling her something, but, she didn't make a big deal out of it. The Malfoys were wizard royalty and she shouldn't be getting into their business. "And yours?"
Lily regained her composure and played her usual flirty personality. "Oh, very interesting. If only you'd have seen me and my cousin, Rose, sneaking into a Muggle neighbor's swimming pool and doing wild things. We had a bit too much Firewhisky that afternoon. And we--" Lily was about to say something funny about Albus, but at that precise moment Scorpius had leaned in and kissed her mouth. The touch of his lips to her was like tasting fireworks, electric and full of color. With the tip of his tongue, he parted her mouth and she could taste him better, taste the sweet richness of his lips and the way that they were so in sync with each other.
And then Scorpius hands were fumbling with the straps of the dress. He moved his hands to her back to unzip the garment. She felt his cold hands touch her bare skin and the moment Scorpius separated his mouth from hers, she gasped. "Oh," she said, feeling like a very innocent school girl. She couldn't deny that Scorpius and she had experienced many encounters but each time she felt as if she were new to all of this. Despite her dating many boys in the school, she had never been with anyone that way, except for Scorpius.
"Is it alright?" Scorpius said, his mouth just only inches from her. She couldn't open her eyes. Every sense heightened when she had her eyes closed: the touch of his smooth hands on her skin, the smell of scented water that he used, the way his chest felt under her hands. She savored every single moment and for a second, she imagined herself travelling far, far away where no one would find her. Oh, the things she and Scorpius would do! They wouldn't have to hide from anybody and they could be free to be with each other at all moments.
Scorpius took her chin in his hand and guided her closer to him. He first kissed the corner of her mouth, then the tip of her chin, and then he moved downwards to the base of her throat. It was all so fascinating and familiar; Lily wouldn't be able to say no. "It's alright, Scorpius. You know how I feel about you. If only…"
Scorpius put a finger to her lips and shushed her. "Why do you always think so much, Lily?"
"I--I don't."
"Yes, you do. Now, let's not get worried about anything else but right now, you reckon that'd be a good idea?" Lily nodded silently and Scorpius smiled and proceeded to undress her. Before she could give herself completely, a thought crossed Lily's mind. If only daddy knew.
