BYM, or for those not of Quaker speak, Britain Yearly Meeting started this Friday with my normal travel to London then crossing a familiar road to arrive at Friends House. On walking through the doors I found myself faced with large amounts of *fluffy*, *unfluffy* and wholesome Quakers all looking for name badges, so of course I took this opportunity to take my suitcase to the baggage room.
After dropping off my bag (and getting the comment "that it is big for the weekend") I did the only thing we know how to do without to much argument and made a name badge, I think my roles at this BYM are limited to YFGM (Young Friends General Meeting) Outreach and saying that I belong to Quaker Life Publications Committee. And as I have already arranged to meet my brother for lunch (YoSushi!) tomorrow I will be ducking out of even some of this responsibility. Anyway I find myself amongst Friends and friends, most of all I am happy to be with the friends with a small 'f'.
