I'm conducting this balancing act, toeing this rope with such caution, it is hard to keep my head straight. There's no telling when I might falter. No indication of a safe-keeping below. But when I'm high there is nothing that compares. Dancing in the air with such graceful precision. There is freedom, pounding adrenaline, a raw serenity untouched by all but me. No one is here. I hear the crowd and I see all the colors but in reality, I am alone. The air is suddenly thin and the ground so far down. Are we always alone?
"Oh and I'm just waiting 'til the shine wears off."
