On running

Did 2.2 km in 30 minutes on the treadmill today in preparation for the Pulag climb this weekend. It's the longest run I've had since I can't remember. :P

After the marathon in  2007, my running started to lessen. The last running event I participated in was the Singapore Marathon in 2008 where I did 10k. There are several reasons why I started running less, but mainly because I wanted to gain weight. At 5"3", I was only weighing 110-112 lbs, which is 10 lbs below the ideal weight. Now, I'm at 122 lbs. I just need 8 more pounds and I can already go back to running.

I noticed that there are so many running events now, compared to when I started 3 years ago. Some are saying that running is the new badminton. I don't know if they're being sarcastic about it and I really don't mind. It's nice to see a lot of people getting interested in the sport. For me, it means more cute people to cruise!

I really miss running. Maybe, just maybe, I'll run with batch 2k9 on their 15k and see if I can still do it in less than 2 hours.
