New creatures!

After getting all three tanks back up to snuff, we decided to add some new aquatic friends.

(*Note:  the pics below are not of our actual new fishies because they're still pretty shy and I couldn't get good pics of them; the ones I'm showing here are examples of the kinds of fish we bought)

I got a plecostomus for the 75 gallon tank whom Kevin has named Suckily:

For the 20 gallon, another blood parrot "cichlid" (I know, it's a hybrid - it's the last one I'll get...Sushi needed a "one of my kind" friend).  Kev named this one Dash because it's been running/swimming away from Sushi all day.  Sushi is something of a pest with new friends.

and two golden gouramis, named Cut (due to a nick on its fin) and Stick...as in Fishstick:

Kevin got a bunch.  He said he used up too much brain when naming mine so he has to rest and recharge his brain before naming his fish.

He got a betta

two blood fin tetras

two glass cats

two flame tetras

and two Chinese algae eaters (since his tank gets direct sun).

I was hoping to get another firemouth cichlid and another chocolate cichlid for the 75 gallon so the existing firemouth and chocolate could have "one of my own" friends again, but the store doesn't have any right now.
Purty, ain't they:

Amazing how fast these things grow.  When I got the gold severums for the 75 gallon tank two years ago, they were each the size of a quarter.

Now here's the big one (actual size):

Hooray for aqua pals!
