Another update? Sure, why not?

Kira, Kira, Kira, you have inspired me to write again for you.

New Year's day was pretty boring and uneventful... I was supposed to go see this production of "Seussical" in Kansas City that a lot of our high school friends were in, but my lovely alumn friends forgot to buy me a ticket. Instead, I stayed home and watched Sex and the City and later was visited by Ellen and her boyfriend since they left the day after to go back to Knox. My mom was still out of town that night, so it ended up being kind of nice just sitting around relaxing by myself.

Let's see... the day after that, my mom got home from her retreat, so we had dinner and talked and stuff, then I went to Nancy's house to watch the last four episodes of Sex and the City. They were lovely, but very sad that it's over. Oh, and I went to a late lunch at my grandma's house with my uncle, because she makes the BEST pot roast EVER. Sooo good.

Then on Monday, I woke up late to pick my dad and his girlfriend up from the airport, then got lost driving out there because there was construction on the route I usually take. This was not fun, especially since I got in a BIG fight with my dad about it, followed by ANOTHER fight about working for him, which I don't really want to do but may end up not having any other options. *sigh* Later that night, I had dinner with my mom again, then I went and hung out with Josh. It was kind of a weird night, looking back on it, but it was fun at the time. We just drove around through Kansas City and ended up in total farmland. Pretty crazy. Got home late and talked to some friends online.

Yesterday, we had some "inclement weather," so I just chilled with my dog around the house until my mom came home early. We made dinner (again) and watched a movie until Whitney called seeing if I wanted to spend the night (sleepovers are so RARE these days!!!), so my mom drove me over there (since my car does NOT do well on icy roads) and I spent the night there. It was fun, I haven't talked to that girl much lately, and it was good to just sit around and chat with her.

This morning when we woke up, there was ice EVERYWHERE... for some reason Kansas City always gets these goddamn ICE STORMS. I took some pictures for those of you on the East Coast that don't know what Kansas ice storms are like. Check my Webshots. It's pretty crazy and really dangerous. Obviously the roads are a problem, but we always have power outages because the trees get really heavy with all the ice and the branches break and fall on power lines and stuff. The last time we had a really bad ice storm, my family didn't have power for almost a week... it SUCKED. Thankfully, we have power this time. It's really beautiful, though, because the trees look like they're coated in glass. I'll take some pictures tonight, too, because they're even prettier with the streetlights glowing behind them. Verrry cool.

So that's about it... awfully boring, I know, but hey--that's winter break for you. Nice and relaxing! :)

<3 you!
