spring break 2004 part 1
NOtice: the unicorns will play s.f. on saturday. who wants to go?
tuesday march 23:
-get offered crystal with which to start my rock garden near people's park
-finish book on 51.
-listen to springtime mix under freeway on college and turn a lot of heads by dancing around
-take 59 and my feet home
-continued later

monday march 22:
-up around 10
-read most of Slaughterhouse Five
-arrange katies desk and bookshelves, move the last of my things into her old room
-everyone comes home, i dont know what happens after that
-eat a humble dinner, katie is out babysitting
-sol comes to get me, i grab the Jim, we grab jewbie
-back at the pad we drink a bit, smoke what jew has left. some corona, some jim
-smoke break outside before we do those things
-jewbie goes home at 10. pick up gordon after dropping her off
-consider getting tea in chinatown, go there, go to jack london. walk around, nothing is open
-at colonial eat many pastries, offer one to a spanger who talks to himself. also have tea. sol has hot chocolate. gordon gets two doughnuts.one has raspberry filling.
-head to sol's
-get a lot of pogs and slammers and some bottle tops to make magnets out of
-look online about smoking a certain pill
-try it downstairs, it doesnt work. no, i wasnt curious and didnt try, in case you wonder
-get steamrolled with what gordon and i have left
-grab glue guns and rearrange action figures. gordon works on his favorite ninja turtle and i make a nonviolent animallike thing with lots of people and ... sol has a lot of experience, you can tell; he's good
-head home around 3
-sleep well

sunday march 21:
-dylan and i get up sometime
-sol picks us up, we get gordon
-head to haight street's amoeba records
-park across from the park
-find siringes in the dirt
-roll with my roaches from the weekend and most of what is left
-smoke at the park's peak. fat J
-walk down to haight
-peek around in a record shop where i buy the soundtrack to alice in wonderland on vinyl
-gordon steals shot glasses, dylan buys a sweatshirt (because its very cold out) at goodwill
-spend a long time in amoeba, make a couple of purchases. get a record with naked women on the cover and some other things, including italian folk singing and an unplugged Vindictives cd. im a little scared of that...
-its a long walk back after we all smoke turkish royals, the second pack i'[ve pitched in on so far this weekend
-make it up the hill
-head home
-dinner at dad's house
-wait with dylan, watching the HOurs until his boys pick him up. they're crazy. two run off up the hill and around the corner...
-go to bed. seeing the Hours isnt a way to remind yourself that life is the way you like it
saturday march 20:
-wake up around 11
-i take my time, k and d make me sad so i pout in davys room a while
-get going to san francisco on bart, mom gives us a ride on her way to berkeley with katie
-get to civic center and walk till we find eric
-eat indian food
-talk to eric, get lots of flyers and hear some speakers
-free admission to asian art museum
-see more buddhas and other lovely things that dylan knows about and can explain
-exit contemporary chinese landscape exhibit thinking about my paper on chinese art, and bump into my professor. he points out the artists, who is nearby. the umbrella check was full of demonstrator's signs
-walk down market
-a guy tries to cross the street, several officers pull out their clubs
-people make way for him to cross, he does, in a crowd of others
-5 officers come after him, shove people out of the way violently. one guy is pushed down with a club onto dylans feet
-we have to run back to the wall in order to not be pushed down
-the guy gets beaten and cuffed, along with another man.
-more and more officers rush from all around, we stare into the eyes of two
-big commotion in street
-finally we can cross and head down the street. check on union square. force dylan around the first floor of neiman marcus
-discuss that and get on a montgomery station
-head home
-have tea at market hall on the sidewalk. teapot adn clear glasses. very nice. dylan befriends the eastern european babies in a buggy at the next table
-bus home
-have katie rend us easy rider
-eat dinner, mom not there because i offended her, she sulks downstairs
-clean up, make david's cookies for mom
-watch easy rider, take an intermission break for a smoke upstairs
-its a really good movie
-katie watches another movie upstairs. i play dress up in the things i left behind last time i was home
-sleep well in katie's bed

friday march 19:
-chill around the house, eat breakfast outside
-smoke with jewbie between her shcool and ballet class at mountain spot. i rolled a very nice j that we put out two thirds into it because it was a fatty. the roach contributed to the san francisco park experience
-i think we may have played video games at my house, i dont really remember what we did though
-dinner with dad at night. go to pasta pomodoro with antoine. jewbie picks up me and dylan and katie for gilman; i have to run to get my purse from dad's car before i can get in
-check on the liquor store
-smoke break before heading in with dylan, jewbie waits outside
-see the quails, a nice dancy and socially conscious punk band with a female guitarist and drummer, both of whom sing -- and with surf influenced guitars.
-drop off katie, head to colonial with sol
-get a ride home, sleep
-i think i forgot a lot of that night, and day too, apparently.

thursday march 18:
-make pb&j for sol, dylan and me
-head on the bus to berkeley
-lots of bike cops in front of buttercup, see them several times during the day
-big al's, rasputin's, lunch in people's park
-to amoeba for dollar records, the boys each get several
-i buy four cds between rasputins and amoeba
-buy art magazines at cody's. sol looks at high times and dylan looks at music magazines about the velvet underground
-its been a long day
-head back, get a ride from jack, who we run into at big al's. he drops off me and dylan; he and sol head to santa cruz to get gordon and drew too.
-????
-supposed to go to grizzly peak but end up with two cars so we go to joaquin miller. my feet get wet on butters street and never dry. dyland adn i walk in the wierd trees beyond the benches. play on teh new structure. alex comes over and talks from then on about his recent trips. go to colonial, hear a lot about alex's trips; we head home listening to zappa, i think? something live; ask dylan. it was good.

-pack all morning
-into town at 4. mom picks us up, talks the whole way home, doesnt ask any questions to either of us

-dinner, i guess, i dont think it was formal though
-hang out with sol at the pad. watch the new south park with his dad
-head to chabot and go along a trail to a bench
-take pictures of a lighter with dylan's camera moving
-head back, i think
-head to bed
