Sen. Obama is now President-elect Obama. And I am a happy girl.
It seems to me that the neo-cons (I won't say Republicans or conservatives, since I'm a fiscal conservative and I know perfectly clued-in Republicans) made their major fail in trying to equate concern for others, and thereby the community, with "socialism". Those "community organizers" aren't so "funny" now, are they, Gov. Palin?
I find it even funnier that they did this when so many of them claim to be "good Christians", and Jesus was no slouch in wanting his followers to take care of the less fortunate and to work together. But the "good Christian" that many neo-cons claim to be are those that have decided that they like the OT and Revelation better for its revenge and violence fantasies. They want "Caesar" to be in everyone's business but theirs. They will do their best to argue that Jesus wasn't really talking to them when telling the rich young man that he needed to relinquish his wealth or when Jesus said turn the other cheek. As a former Presbyterian, I just have to laugh.
The election is over and we get to go on, as we would have no matter who won. But I just have to amuse myself with one lovely personal attack. Do you think that the reason that Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin cancelled their rally that was going to be rained on here in PA was because she would have melted?
What a world. What a world......
