Prospects And Purchases

Things are still chaotic at home and I have no idea if I ever will get back to writing, but, believe it or not, for the first time in ages, I actually wanted to write last night. I was too beat to actually do it, but it's a start. And then this morning, when I had a computer!scare, I was actually worried not just because of my dear Leland, but also because of my countless unfinished fics which I haven't backed up recently. I'm going to back these up as soon as I get my usb memory thingy back, if that ever happens. I don't think I mentioned it on here, but I loaned it to Sis and she handed it in at school! There is a bunch of stuff on there that I don't want the whole school (which I used to attend) to see. And I work at a school, I know how much teachers gossip.

Speaking of work, I'm tutoring a student until the summer break and the school offered me further work for next school year. It would be a around 6 hours a week of small group tutoring. Sounds good to me, even though it doesn't pay a lot. It would be a bit difficult as I only finish my degree, should everything go to schedule, about a month after the school year starts, so the first month would be pretty hard. Will have to think about it. But I think I'm going to take it :-)

Bro is getting serious about moving out, as he should since he is like leaving for the US in two weeks, where he will study and teach at some college. Somehow I got roped into helping him move out of his dorm room. Not that I mind, but I'm sorta the wrong person for that gig. I don't drive and I don't have a car, so all I can really do is carry stuff from the room to the car. Bro drives one of those tiny tin cans where nothing will fit anyhow. He should get Sis to help, she is allowed to drive the family van. I told him to just put out an add or hang up flyers around campus to try and get rid of his stuff that way. But now, it has to go home, even though some of it is stuff that no one wants or needs and that was left behind in the dorm by the previous inhabitants - like the chocolate foutain and that ugly IKEA painting. I bet a couple of months down the line, my mother will tell me to try and get rid of the stuff.

There wouldn't be terribly much to look forward to next week, but I'm most likely going to get mail and I love that! I finally settled on an ebook reader and it should arrive mid next week. I won't be able to use the wireless function as that only works in the US, but I'm already excited. I used to have a BeBook/Cybook and wasn't too pleased with it. I liked the idea of being able to read fanfic and other stuff anywhere, but there was no way to search for a particular title on the device, what with it being able to store over a thousand books, was pretty unfortunate. Plus, it took ages for a page to flip. I read a lot of reviews on the 'net and both aspects are supposedly much improved.
