The repair lady called me last Sunday night. She was re-scheduling my appointment to look at my washer... but then she started to tell me how the vomiting and diarrhea were actually side effects of the medication she is on. She wasn't sure at first whether it was the flu.... blah blah blah.... now she is on medication to help alleviate the side effects of the other medication... blah blah blah.... seriously!!!! It was Sunday evening, and the last thing I wanted to do was sit on the phone with a stranger listening to her ailments... I wanted to know when I might be able to wash the load of whites sitting in a basket?!?! UGH! I remained polite and tried not to encourage her with any questions.
I can't remember whether she came on Monday or Tuesday. However, when she arrived, I brought down a couple of the shirts that have been ruined by the washer. Immediately she tried to lay blame on ME... by stating that these types of stains could be caused by fabric softener (strange, 'cause I haven't used fabric softener for over 6 months and these machines are less than 3 months old)... oh! well then it could be the dryer sheets... but the clothes come out of the WASHER with these marks.... then perhaps the laundry detergent I am using.... nope sorry lady but I use Tide HE... so stuff it (ok I didn't say 'stuff it', but I WANTED to). As this woman is laying blame on my shoulders and saying that this is unusual and she has never heard of this before, I am holding a one year old who was FREAKING out because there is a strange lady in my basement, the other one year old keeps toddling into the laundry room since this is a new space to explore, the 3 year old needs to pee, and the 5 year old wants to tell me all about the Lego thing he has build...UGH!!!!
So the repair lady is looking at some colored pamphlet trying to figure out what could be the problem (I told her that there are MANY complains online about this very same problem with this washer). Apparently the answer is not in her pamphlet, and she has run out of ways to blame me. So she asks for my phone (seems strange since MOST people, especially people who drive around doing repairs) own/carry a cell phone. But WHATEVER!!! So she is on the phone with people who might know about these things. I miss several calls because she doesn't tell me that the other line is beeping, and I almost didn't get a Starbucks coffee as my sis was trying to get ahold of me. When the repair lady is done she hands me a black felt that she has found under the rubber seal around the door. She tells me that I should be checking this everytime... I tell her that I didn't know and wasn't about to start playing with things and break them. She scolds me a bit saying that the felt was probably the culprit. This is strange because it is not BLACK or GREY even on my clothes, but simply darker splotches. PLUS it has only shown up when the machine heats the water. But I am hopeful that this works. She turns the washer on a hot cycle with detergent, then advises me to use the 'clean washer' cycle with some bleach once that is done. So much for conserving water and energy.... GRRR.
I joke and say 'thank goodness this was a warranty call'. To which she replies 'I don't think a marker is considered a warranty call'
I couldn't believe what a total BOOT she was!!!! After I listened to her go on and on about diarrhea and vomit!!!! UGH!!!!
She left and I did as instructed with the washer.
Today David washed some clothes as he is off on a business trip tomorrow. His light blue polo shirt has come out of the wash with these dark splotches!!! I am FREAKING LIVID!!!! $2000 and our clothes are getting RUINED!!!! Dufresne is getting a call tomorrow... it is not going to be a pleasant call... and I am going to tell them about this rude woman and demand a different repair person!!!! $2000 and I am afraid to wash laundry?!?! Stay AWAY from Whirlpool Duet!!!!!!!!
Thanks for listening to me VENT!!!!
