Today I had my first experience substitute teaching. What the teacher didn't tell me (on purpose I found out later) was how bad her class was. Bad as in frisky, naughty, ill-mannered, and otherwise rather pifflewart-y. It was a crash course in classroom management, a good experience which I will reflect on at length in my teaching journal. It's times like these that make me really proud to be a New Englander. As of about half an hour ago Massachusetts became the first state in the country to make Universal healthcare happen. Kelsey and I just got back from bowling at Northampton Bowl, it was fun despite being standard 10-pin bowling, which I only had my first experience with back in the MidWest a few years ago.
