There was no original intention of showing up and that had been mentally established at least an hour ago. The whole idea of such a day like Valentine's Day was complete rubbish. It was the idea of, 'if you do not give me all your attention for twenty-three hours and a blowjob, you don't love me.' Someone was expected to give into the commands of their so-called significant other and would cry in private over how empty their precious wallets were. But, even so, the first year had made up his mind to go and this was only after quite a bit of consideration. His reasoning was not to follow the typical Valentine day shit, but he did not have a valid reason ( ... )

Violet eyes stared at the table, dully, something telling him to grab something. Free food was a very good excuse to show up; free food did not always taste that great unless you were being treated to somewhere you actually liked. Or that was quite possibly the young Icelander’s case, seeing that someone had to hate him and make him dislike most food that was thrust into his face. Especially when saltlakkrís was not even an issue to eat ( ... )

Of all people, he would be the last to think he, himself, would actually show up. It was a sickening thought, really, but he got what he wanted. Or, he thought it was what he wanted. By this point, he was not quite completely sure and something was telling him to escape. His body tensed off and the Icelander turned his head to the side to blankly stare off at the floor ( ... )

“Nn, I came looking for someone,” Eyvindur replied, tonelessly.

His brain was not working fast enough to get himself to shut up; what he just said had to give off the wrong impression. Nothing was going to make that statement going away and he would really have to deal with it. The Icelander did not find himself acting the way he wanted to. He was already sucking at conversation with someone who he had…spent some…time…with. Yeah.

“And I am fine.”

That was not the greatest thing to let slide from his mouth, either. It was a lie, for the most part, but the truth was he was not doing terrible. If anything, he felt somewhat sick to his stomach. All this short dialogue wanted to get him to puke and he did not even eat any of the food yet. Yet he figured he could only keep flapping his jaw in order not to look offensive.

“What about you?”

"Oh, I see..."

His face began to grow hot, trying to prevent himself from touching his cheeks with his hands in means to cool himself. Though he probably would have looked rather stupid and that was not what he was aiming for. The heat only rose, head snapping back into a straightforward position. Eyvindur just did something bad.

While he was quiet, something heavy was threatening to drag him down to the floor from his chest to his stomach. Haakon-- he was walking away. His head certainly got heavy, mouth going dry. The only thing going through his mind was a repeat of ‘dammit.’ Why was he so stupid? Why, why…Haakon was really going.

“Wait--! Ha…”

Now a hand was brought up to his face, covering the dark eyes. ‘See you around campus’ was just… No. Even if things did not make complete sense, he was not going to let it go like usual. Classmate or friend or whatever Haakon was called, Eyvindur began to push himself through the crowd in means to find him again.

"H-Haakon!"

He had been waiting, but he should have gone ahead and taken the lead, himself. And now here he was, the Icelander trying to waddle through the crowd rather hopelessly. But a blank expression was upheld, trying to keep himself looking cool. Letting snot run down his upper lip would be such a childish thing to do out in public, not to mention the thought of tears. Not like he really actually felt like he was about to cry.

Haakon seemed a little far off, Eyvindur not choosing to say a word, either. He only made a bit of a gesture, reaching out his hand as though offering it to an invisible person. The arm was only brought back in a move meant to motion over the Norwegian.
