"Yao~" Ivan called at seeing his Chinese friend in the hallways.

"Oh. Ivan. Something the matter, aru?"

"I was wondering what did you get for for the first question on the test."
"Oh--" He paused to yawn, "B, aru."

"Really? That's a relief, that was enough to get a 90 on this test, da." At seeing Yao let out another yawn, Ivan furrowed his eyebrows in worry for his friend. "What's wrong? Didn't get enough sleep from studying?"

"...Not from studying, aru." Yao said as he rubbed his eyes. "My roommate was watching T.V until late at night, aru. I got them back though."

"Got them back?"

"Yup." Yao said with a nod. "Pulled a prank on them in the morning, aru." The scream he had managed to hear from his classroom and Kiku's pale and nervous act around Alfred told him that he got them good.

--

Gilbert had a good plan of stomping up to Alfred and asking him what was going through his mind, what he thinks of Kiku and depending on the answer, he just might try to beat him with-- (Oh, he didn't know) Russia's pipe or something. It was a pretty good plan if he actually knew where Alfred was.

He let out a groan of both frustration and annoyance as he rounded the corner and caught the last bits of Yao and Ivan's conversation. "...You pulled a prank? On Kiku...?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Um..." Yao looked rather nervous about saying anything until Ivan reassured him with a pat on the shoulder that nothing was going to happen if he was around. "...Yea, aru. They sort of deserved it, aru."

Gilbert sighed and rolled his eyes. "Ah, whatever. I could care less what sort of things you do for fun--"

"What's that supposed to mean, aru?!"

"--Can you tell me where Alfred went?"

"Oh, I saw him at the library, da."

"Really?" The German didn't bother to thank him. There was no way in hell he would thank Ivan after this ordeal.

"Da~" But Gilbert had already left. "...Always so rude." Ivan muttered unhappily. "Why can't he be more like you?"

"...Like me, aru?" Yao asked with nervous, shocked eyes. "Er..." Yao searched his brain for an answer that could possibly please the Russian so that he wouldn't be turned into a random bloody mess by his pipe. "Um...uh, it's an acquired trait, aru?" He didn't want to be too rude in case Gilbert was still within earshot. "A-Anyways, aru..." Yao started nervously, "I, um, have to go now! My date might be waiting for me, aru!"

"Your date? Oh, da. I remember you mentioning that. "До свидания!" He said, waving good bye to his Chinese friend as he left.

--

"ALFRED!" Oh, that was a bad move, Gilbert immediately received multiple dirty looks form people sitting in the library reading their books.
"Be quiet or leave!" The librarian hissed at him.

Gibert rolled his eyes. "I'm only looking for Alfred--"

"I'm right here." Alfred said from behind him. "What the hell do you want?" There was venom in the blonde's voice as he remembered the scuffle from the night before. He still had quite a few bruises hidden beneath his clothes.

"Yea, me and you have a lot to talk about." The German said with a threatening tone of voice.

"Bring it, you think I'm afraid of you?! I'm going to find out exactly what you're trying to do with Kiku and--"

"Whatever you plan to 'talk' about, do it outside the library where a security guard can catch you." The librarian said sarcastically before any more sparks can arise from the two.

The two boys stayed quiet as they walked out, but the glare continued as red and blue stared intensely at each other. As soon as there was open space, the two were at each other's necks again.

"Which part of this is a 'talk'?" Alfred demanded. "The wringing my neck part or the bruised eyed part?"

"Both." Gilbert panted as he wiped some blood off his chin. The blonde was about the same height as him, but he had always expected the American to be weaker since he was younger than him. The last fight and the current one was proving that he was about the same as him (he would never admit anyone was stronger than him, let alone Alfred.) "You might think I'm heartless--"

"Think? I know you are."

"Shut up!" He missed there when he tried to get a punch at Alfred. "But I still care about Kiku's feelings. And what you're doing to him is pretty horrid."

Alfred, who was about to go for a punch to Gilbert's stomach, stopped short and jumped backwards. "What the hell are you saying?! I'm his best friend! Don't accuse me of stuff like that! If I know anyone's going to hurt Kiku, it's definitely you!" Blue eyes narrowed in hatred and disgust as Gilbert's famous smirk came on.

"You keep saying it. He's your best friend. I hope you know what that's doing to him."

Blue eyes widened in confusion now. "You make no fucking sense! Just get the hell out of my sight!" Alfred ran a hand through his hair, he was all sweaty now and the security camera probably caught most, if not all, of their fight. "If this talk is done and finished, then I'm leaving!"

"Oh, are you running away then?" Gilbert let out a laugh, "Knew you were too damn weak."

With his bomber jacket now swung across his shoulder, he stuck his tongue out at Gilbert. "Who says I'm running away? The bell's about to ring. I'm not going to be late to class because of a loser like you." And before he let Gilbert reply, he had dashed down the hallway, running in the direction of his next class.

You keep saying it. He's your best friend. I hope you know what that's doing to him, oddly, the words kept ringing in his head. What the hell was Gilbert talking about? What harm am I doing by being his best friend...?
