"Yeah, fine, we're all friends," America said... Though it actually sounded more like "Yrgh mrphh frnna." It's hard to speak clearly when your face is pressed up against someone's chest.
When Ivan finally let go of everybody, Feliciano gasped for air and Ludwig apprehensively checked for dents due to the strong hug. But America just brushed a few stray pieces of hay off of him. He had gotten pretty used to all the arm grabs and the hugs by now.
Ludwig sighed. "I apologize. That was rude of me. You did offer to help me out, after all."
America dismissed the issue with a wave of his hand. "Nah, I've heard worse." Ivan nudged him. "I mean, it's no problem dude. You were standing out there alone for probably a freakin' loooong time plus you lost your memory and even your home looked rundown and empty and... Where was I going with this? I swear I was going somewhere awesome with this like in the movies..."
"Alright, I get the point already." Ludwig motioned for him to stop talking. "But you did try to make me feel better, I suppose. Thank you." He made a small smile.
Feliciano grin at that and pat Ludwig on the back. "See, you are a nice guy! I knew it!" His smile faltered. "But, you lost your memory?"
An affirmative nod. "Yes, all I can remember was my name."
"That's one of the reasons why we're heading for the Ruby City," Ivan added. "Why don't you come with us?"
"Ve? Really?" His tail started to wag.
America shrugged. "Well, why not? No sense hanging out in this crappy forest." A pause. "Wait, why were you hanging around here anyway? A dare?"
Feliciano shook his head. "Ve... I'm looking for an old friend. He left one day, I forget why, but he never came back. He promised that he'd come back..." He looked downwards with a sullen look and absentmindedly rubbed his arm. "I know it's been a long time, but still remember him and I really miss him. I had a feeling that I'd find him, so that's why I'm here."
"Felicinano..." America didn't really know how to respond to that. That was a bit heavier than he expected from the normally carefree, silly italian he knew.
"You must've been very close, da?" Despite the sympathetic smile, there was slight envy in Ivan's words.
Ludwig reassuringly pat Feliciano's shoulder. "We'll help you find him too. Since you're trying so hard, you'll find him. I'm positive."
Feliciano's expression quickly brightened and his voice picked up back to its usual happy tone. "Ve, thank you everybody!" He quickly wiped his eyes with his sleeve.
"All right then! First thing's first! Let's get the hell outta here and get down to the Ruby City!?" America started to continue down the tomato brick road, followed by Ivan, who had linked arms with America. "So grab your girlfriend, Lud, and let's get going already!"

A/N: Reading this over, I thought of Beauty and the Beast. xD I edited a little bit then. Blabbered a bit about this character, but I had fun, DERP.
Unbeknownst to the group, someone was watching them. The Witch of the Wherever wasn't the only witch in Tomatoland, after all and unfortunately, not all of them were helpful and kind. Residing in a large, cold castle within the desolate, jagged mountains beyond the Ruby City was the Witch of the Wherever's adopted second cousin thrice removed, Arthur. He had various titles ranging from taunting to daunting, but was mostly referred to as the Witch of Nowhere, to his dislike.
He was previously the ruler of a kingdom, but was banished due to a... 'mistake' relating to a soured relation between him and a ex-friend that had created a rebellion. It had mostly been due to Arthur's cranky, and often distant, disposition, but he was still bitter nevertheles.
Donning a black, hooded cloak that covered his messy, short blonde hair and almost hid his strangely large brows, he 'ruled' his castle surrounded by minions, most of them made or summoned by magic. Though quite powerful, he mostly kept to himself, only causing occasional trouble with minions and was usually content with just observing the outside world through a magic, crystal ball he had.
Unfortunately, America's sudden appearance had not went unnoticed and had caught the witch's interest as well.
The Witch of Nowhere scowled as he continued to watch America and his ragtag group go from bickering misfits to 'friends'. They neared the exit of the dark forest and nearer to the Ruby City.
More specifically, Arthur glared at America through his crystal ball. He said a simple command and the ball focused on America.
He peered at the image of the other once again. "His hair, his voice, his bloody unbearable attitude... It's him without a doubt."
With a wave of his hand, he summoned a dusty book of curses and spells from the rotting bookcase behind him and muttered angrily to himself as he flipped through its contents.
"You betray me, attack me, kick me out of my own damn kingdom to these blasted mountains, disappear and then come back years later to become all chummy with these freaks?" He finally found the page with the 'eternal sleep' spell and laughed wryly.
"Time for that long-overdue punishment."
Going back to America and his 'band of merry weirdos that all needed help in one way or another', they had finally made it out of the forest. Now in front of them, was the Ruby City, its pointed crystal-formation appearance twinkling beautifully in the sunny clear weather. All that separated them from the city was a lovely, vast field of red poppies swaying slightly in the light breeze.
At the sight in front of them, America fist-pumped with a victorious holler. "WOO HOO! Can I get a 'fuck yeah' guys, because we freakin' MADE IT!" He whistled when he looked at the impressive city at a distance. "Man, it doesn't look as lame as I thought it'd be!"
"I'd rather not use that kind of vulgar language for a time like this." Ludwig's smile and ending chuckle betrayed his words. "But it is very beautiful, isn't it?" While he wasn't the type to get openly or easily excited, it was definitely a refreshing sight after waking up in the forest.
Felicano, who squealed with glee when they finally exited the dark forest, began to blabber excitedly while animatedly, yet meaninglessly, waving his arms. "We made it, we made it~! I've been here before, but it's been such a long time and, wow, it looks so pretty and its not scary and I hope we can eat when we get there because I'm kinda hungry, and woooow, I don't remember that many flowers before! It's amazing~!" He ran forward to dive into the start of the field of flowers and began to roll around, giggling giddily with the occasional 'Ve~' as he did so.
Ivan laughed and gazed with barely contained excited joy at the field. "I've always wanted to come here! It's just as nice as I thought it'd be! It's warm and pretty with all of these flowers."

A/N: I'm going to use a, b, c now instead of ending up with, like, 30 parts or something. |D Consistency, what's that? Man, I've messed up the numbering already.
"Those cornfields kinda suck compared to this, huh," America asked, getting a single nod in response. "Weeeell, what the hell are we waiting for?" He grabbed Ivan and Ludwig's arms and began to pull them eagerly towards Feliciano and the field of flowers. "The city is right ahead!"
Ivan stopped when they reached the edge of the field and America let go of Ludwig's arm to turn and give the scarecrow a questioning look.
"Isn't there a road?" Ivan scanned the landscape, trying to look for one. "Won't we hurt the flowers by running through them?"
America let out a hearty laugh and pat the other's back. "Duuude, don't worry!" He pointed at Feliciano, who was still rolling around."Feli is rolling on 'em and they're fine! They're resilient bastards!"
It was true. The poppies has the same feel and softness of normal flowers, but sprang back up, good as new, when Feliciano rolled on them.
"Ve, come roll with me Ludwig!" Feliciano giggled got up briefly to pounce on Ludwig, who had went to stand in the field next to Feliciano after America had let him go, into the soft, flowery bed before he could turn down the invitation.
"Oof, is this pouncing going to become a habit? Honestly!" Ludwig snapped half-heartedly but didn't move to push Feliciano off of his chest. He was just playing after all and its not like it hurt. Plus Feliciano must've tackled, clung to, hugged, pounced on him and done any other action that invaded his personal space at least 25 times while in the forest.
The other was giggling and then plucked a single poppy, after a few seconds of serious contemplation and judgment of the surrounding poppies, and handed it to Ludwig. "Here you go! A pretty flower from me, ve! It's special!" Ludwig was about to point out that all of the flowers around them were pretty similar, but held back and just accepted the flower with a smile, though he felt a little ridiculous. "Thank you."
After a few relaxing seconds of silence, Ludwig finally noticed something was off.

"But I'm just making sure-"
"PULL YOUR PANTS BACK UP!"
