Third anon here. Sorry for taking so long, exams are a bitch. Also excuse the uncreative title. --
Ludwig Weilschmidt was a person of organisation and order. He liked having things under control and there was nothing more satisfying than going through a checklist and seeing that everything was as it should be. It made him happy - ecstatic, even. Not that you would notice under his usual strict expression.
This was why, when the time to choose his best man had come, he picked someone reliable, someone who worked efficiently: his employee Eduard von Bock.
It wasn’t like he and Eduard were especially close or anything; in fact, they only worked together at Weilschmidt Ltd and had never done anything together outside of work, but Ludwig could depend on the fact that if Eduard was in charge of his bachelor party, everything would go smoothly. Eduard would probably make reservations at a nice restaurant, they’d spend a few hours eating and drinking, and then go home. He’d be fit for his wedding, everything would be fine.
“What do you mean, you’re choosing the nerd over me?!”
Ludwig pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache coming. “Gilbert, calm down. My decision is final.”
“I’m your older brother! I should be your best man! Plus, if the nerd organizes your bachelor party, it’s going to be so boring!”
“Gilbert. Calm down.”
“You can’t do this to me! First you propose to cute little Feli without telling me and I hear it from Francis and then you don’t make me your best man! What kind of an ungrateful brother are you? I practically raised you, Ludwig! I -”
Ludwig sighed and picked up his phone, pressing the button that would connect him directly to the person he needed more often than he liked to admit. “Vash, please come here and remove Gilbert from my office.”

Weilschmidt Ltd was a successful company importing goods from all over the world to America. It was so successful, in fact, that it was the company to contact when you need anything that you couldn’t buy in stores (though, to be fair, even what you bought in retail stores was obtained from wholesales who bought it from Weilschmidt Ltd). The décor in your local German pub? Gilbert Weilschmidt, in charge of the department for German imports, had to do with that.
At the top of the company was Ludwig Weilschmidt, 25 years of age. He had only recently taken over for his grandfather and the founder of the company, Karl Weilschmidt. Before that, he had been in charge of the German imports department. This post was now Gilbert’s - half the work was still Ludwig’s though because Gilbert spent too much time gloating to other employees about his promotion.
Currently, Gilbert was lurking by the coffee machine, watching the bastard who stole his role as Ludwig’s best man - because clearly, he had a right to be his brother’s best man! He had a right to hold the wedding rings and, above all, organize Ludwig’s bachelor’s party!
Oh how he hated Eduard for stealing this from him… stupid little nerd. Gilbert wished he could just do it like they did it when they were kids - him and Mathias had beaten up Eduard quite a lot until Ivan rolled around and called dibs on bullying him. Now though, Eduard was quite successful - head of the controlling department and the IT department, earned more money than Gilbert and got to be Ludwig’s best man.
“- Then we’ll meet up in front of the restaurant at 6, alright?” Eduard smiled at Tino from the Northern European imports department.
Tino smiled back in his usual friendly way. “Yes, I hope I can get a babysitter for Peter until then. Are you done with the invites?”
“Ah, yes. I saved you for last so we could chat for a while.”
Both men laughed at this, but Gilbert was fuming. He had not been invited yet, so surely Eduard must have made a mistake! He cleared his throat, but when Eduard so him he just gave a polite smile, took a cup of coffee and excused himself.
