You'll remember that when he woke up after being unconscious for almost a full day, Matt told him it would take a while for the drugs to flush from his system. Since Alfred was out of it for that time period, I didn't explicitly state it, but I was hoping that remark would imply they did seek medical attention for him (anon is silly sometimes- please forgive him).
I write for the fandom under the assumption that, though they appear human, the nation-tans are not simply immortal humans. In my head-canon, they have private physicians who are aware of who and what they are and have special training to be able to see to their health. Human medical practice would fail at helping nations under most circumstances- popping some aspirin for a cold wouldn't suddenly fix the bad economy causing the cold, for example.
I'm sorry I didn't make it clear enough that Matt did get him to a doctor while he was out of it- if/when I de-anon, I'll be sure to rewrite that part to make it clearer.
That being said, I'm glad you kept reading despite how much I muddled that point all the way at the beginning, and thank you for pointing out that oversight to me. ^^;
