"My arms hurt," Italy complains, very quietly but he can't stop himself from actually saying it. Russia has an iron grip on his elbow and drags him behind as Italy stumbles and tries to keep up.
"I know," Russia says and stops humming his national anthem to himself. “If you were human you might get serious damaged because of the blood loss in your hands. Lucky that you are not human, is it not?”
Italy whimpers and doesn't say anything more. This isn't fair. He gave up, even if his brother gave up first he gave in too, not even to Russia. No one wants to surrender to Russia who storms over Europe like a demonic force. None of the allies cared and handed him over to Russia when Russia asked, like he was just an inconvenience. It is Germany and Japan everyone wants. Berlin is burning and when his soldiers drags out civilians and soldiers alike on the street to shot them it makes Russia laugh.
“I win,” Russia softly whispers in Italy's ear.
Italy sobs quietly for the dying people and for himself. He won't die as easily and for the first time it fills him with fear. Finally someone takes him seriously as an axis power and the only thing he wishes for now is for Russia to treat him like he was insignificant like everyone else does.
Italy started to cry and begged to be let go when Russia first got hold of him. Russia hit him in the face with his full strength and told him to be quiet. Italy continued to sob on the ground and Russia kicked him until he couldn't move or scream anymore. It felt unreal now, even though the bruises in his face has barley faded and his ribs still aches. It was not something nations did. Italy had been captured before and then he had been locked up somewhere or forced to work for his capturer for a while. Perhaps they yelled at him a bit before letting him go. They didn't beat him when he was helpless and laughed at his pain. There was supposed to be a convention signed that proved they couldn't do that.
“I never signed,” Russia replied, still laughing, when Italy protested.
Italy does not speak Russian and he is confused over what is going on when Russia brings him into an abounded building surrounded by soldiers.
“We captured your boyfriend,” Russia happily says. “Now we can all meet up again and talk about all this unpleasantness. Is it not great?”
Italy nods miserably because Russia seems to expect that from him. They get into an almost empty room where Germany is tied down in a chair and three soldiers keep their weapons pointed at him. Russia talks to the soldiers, from his tone is sounds like he is praising them before he dismisses them but one can never know with Russia. Germany is gagged and he tries to say something beneath the gag. Italy doesn't dare to try to answer, he stays behind Russia frozen in fear.
