jewish!OP!anon wants to thank you and marry you and have your legitimate children, please. Now, this is gonna be a long, long comment, telling you exactly how awesome you are, so embrace yourself.<3 Because a simple "thanks for filling it you're amazing" just won't do. [Also, this is the first time I'm reading it and so I'm commenting while reading, so it may seem a bit incoherent at first since I'm writing my thoughts up]
Title: awesome choice *holding 10 thumbs up* isn't it the chorus of "the 10 plagues" song, from Prince of Egypt? very fitting.
Part I:
Okay, great decision there, going with Zikaron-verse.
But why is Ashkenazim there? oh wait, he's not supposed to get to Europe till much later so it's okay. So the idea was Ashkenazim living with Mizrahim and growing up and then banished to Europe. Kay, got it now.
Ashkenazim talking Hebrew - fuck yeah.
"Av and the Jews" - maybe Av of the Jews?
Moses and Aaron - yay for Bible!canon.
Boy, does Egypt seems sexy here.
Awwww, Ashkenazim being afraid by Egypt - very much YESTHANKYOU.
Part II:
Mizrahim noticing Egypt's growth - yes. Just yes. And also, Mizrahim being protective!big!brother over Ashkenazim? that's the sound of my heart exploding with joy.
Mizrahim and Egypt's dialogue - omgYES.
Aw, loved the brothers' interaction very much. They worry and care so much for each other, and that's just FANTASTIC.
Part III:
"like a sheep on the way to its own slaughter" - Holocaust reference much? Not sure how I feel right now.
More dialogue = more love. Seriously, Anon, marry me now.
“Tell me, Jew. Tell me how much you are willing to do for the soul of your forsaken Hebrew nation.” I FUCKING LOVE THAT LINE SO MUCH.
WOW. Mizrahim/Midian is new OTP perhaps?
Sepharadim!!! yayayay.
Oh god Mizrahim suffers just like his people = <3
"flames consume the bush" - yet again, yay Bible!canon.
"“Anything,” Mizrahim breathes, and this one word is leaden with pride and is the single most truthful and significant thing he has ever said.
And Egypt’s face becomes very ugly as he hisses, “Then submit to me, Mizrahim!” His name sounds like a venomous curse being spat from Egypt’s lips. “Submit to me, Hebrew, and I will believe your word.” He grasps Mizrahim’s chin and shakes it, jeering, “What is it you desire?”
Mizrahim inhales deeply, looks the great king in the eyes and says, slowly, resolutely, “Let. My people. Go.”"
FORGET WHAT I SAID EARLIER ABOUT EGYPT ASKING MIZRAHIM WHAT HE'S WILLING TO DO. THIS IS THE BEST PART SO FAR AND I AM CRUSHED HERE. CRUSHED. THAT'S THE ANGST I'M TALKING ABOUT.
OH YES. So fucking awesome. "Let. My people. Go." I'm in heaven, y'all.
Part IV:
Egypt's slap - I think I can physically feel Mizrahim's pain.
"Mizrahim, I will teach you what it means to be a slave in my kingdom." yeah, teach him :D [god I feel dirty now:|]
Not gonna say anything about the sex scene, since I'll have to copy-paste it all and that seems redundant. I just love it. Seriously, I love it ALL. Mizrahim's thoughts and hysteria and how awful Egypt is. I'll stop now. This is way too good.
Part V:
Aww, Mizrahim's pain. Just. WOW.
Egypt is such an ass ):
More Brothers' Interaction, OMG. Almost!crying!Ashkenazim owns my heart.
More Hebrew - I saud it before and I'll say it again: fuck yeah. ILU Anon.
Yay, Bible!canon makes yet another appearance. But OMG is that the end? Please no, I want more! 'cause I'm selfish like that.
This was FUCKING AWESOME AND I LOVED IT. WTF, author!anon, this is so great. Now I'm gonna read it again. THANKS SO MUCH FOR WRITING IT.
Notes about notes: I don't know that song :\ lyrics, plz?
Okay, now we have two out of three fics about Israel and Family. Is it just me or that anyone else thinks Sepharadim deserves a fic of her own, too? Could be with Spain during 1492, something about Alhambra Decree. [And yeah, I'm pointing at you, author!anon.]

I more or less felt my heart burst when I read your comments. ;^; Thank you for your kind words and I'm so happy you enjoyed it, OP! And I'm also glad you found it angsty XD I wasn't sure if I hit upon the right kind you'd wanted.
And YAY for Bible!canon! :D lawl Mizrahim/Midian
The "King Pharaoh" song I mentioned in my notes was just some little thing I used to sing with my classmates in Hebrew school. Not even Hebrew school--like Hebrew pre-school. It was very classy and sophisticated. "King Pharaoh, King Pharaoh, please let my people go. King Pharaoh, King Pharaoh, please let my people go. They work too hard all day, they never get to play. King Pharaoh, King Pharaoh, what do you say? No, no, no. I will not let them go. No, no, no. I will not let them go."
D8 This might be a stab in the dark, but I feel like I've just been issued a challenge...is backtracking to the Inquisition okay?

Ahaha I'll do my best, OP, but it'll probably take a little longer, because I'll have to crack out research and actually conceive a plot. D: But I'll definitely see Sephardim through.

OMG so you're really gonna write it? ^__^
Inquisition would be lovely. And if you can toss Romano in too, then I'm forever yours.
Reply
And Romano will of course make an appearance. C:
