A little early for Christmas, but...

Cross-over with It's A Wonderful Life.
Alfred Jones' life is a mess. He's got trouble at work, lost a lot of money, has been lashing out at everyone and got in a huge fight with his boyfriend Ivan...and now he feels like the world would be better if he'd never existed and decides to go jump off a bridge. But before he can do that, another man falls in the river first. Alfred might be depressed and suicidal, but he's still a hero, and jumps in after the other man...only to find that the guy he rescued is an grumpy angel named Arthur who was sent to stop Alfred from killing himself. After Alfred says that he thinks the world would be better if he had never existed, Arthur shows him just what a world without him would be like.
Don't feel like you have to stick too close to the plot of the movie, you can come up with whatever you like for Alfred's past and why he wants to kill himself (though I would like for him to be in a relationship with Ivan, or at least to be pursuing a relationship.) Same for what the world is like without him, as long as it's worse than the present reality.
Bonus: Arthur is trying to get his wings because he had them revoked for flying while intoxicated. Bonus 2: Include lines from the movie ('What do you want, Ivan? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down.')
