Her hair had been golden like the sun and her eyes the color of the bright blue skies, Annaliese, dearest Brandenburg.
"You're a strange, strange man, Gilbert!" She had laughed when their territories had first become 'united', sharing a Leader in common.
Things had changed somewhat later on, when one day, she had woken up in a battlefield tent, Annaliese frantically trying to clean her up and bind up her wounds.
"Really, Gilbert - Or whatever your name really is - you should have told me. What's the use of getting married if you don't even know you're husband's really a girl? - And what's your name, anyway? Oh, never mind, Sweden's coming - now shut up and stay under the covers!"
She had darted out of the tent, then, before she had had time to mumble that they weren't 'married', really, and then -
"- Brand'nb'rg. Who?"
"No, you don't go in there, one of my husband's provinces is resting in there. You just leave her alone, alright? You've done enough, here."
" - 'Husb'nd'." There was a amused huff. And then - "She pretty?"
"I said, get out!"
"...A'right. Going."
Annaliese had came back into the tent when she woke up next. She had brought water, too. It even tasted halfway fresh, amazingly enough.
"- I think you're pretty, by the way." She had said, petting her hair. "So - what is your name?"
She sighed, then, thinking. She'd used to have a different name, once. More then one of them, if fact.
But that had been a long time ago.
" - 'Maria'" She had answered, eventually. Annaliese had smiled hugely at that, even while she was trying to comb her hair and making faces at the snarls.
