The nervous looking young man fidgeted in his chair. His fingers ran through his dark brown hair then smoothed over his collar before settling on top of his other hand, tapping erratically.
His source of discomfort was directly opposite him, watching him with wide and guileless violet eyes.
“There’s no need to be uncomfortable,” Ivan smiled gently.
His words made his guest even more uncomfortable if the whiteness of his hands were anything to go by. They were clenched so tightly together that Ivan doubted there was any blood circulation going through.
Sure enough, a knock on the door startled the brown haired man enough that he jerked upright, almost jumping out of his seat before settling back down and trying to make it seem like his movements were intentional.
Ivan’s smile stretched just a fraction wider, “Come in Natalia.”
The blonde-haired woman opened the door, pushing a small cart with assorted sandwiches and a steaming pot of tea, “As you requested brother.”
He nodded at her, flicking a glance at the door and Natalia inclined her head once in understanding before moving out of the room, closing the door just as quietly behind her.
Ivan stood, moving the items from the cart to the table personally, watching his guest closely from the corner of his eye, “I’m sure you are hungry and thirsty. I had these small snacks prepared for you.”
To his surprise, the brown-haired man seemed to have lost his nervousness. Instead, he was staring in the direction of the door with a somewhat wide-eyed expression.
“That was your sister?” He breathed out, eyes meeting Ivan’s for the first time since he stepped foot in the room.
Ivan’s smile was caught between bemusement and confusion, “Yes?”
The green eyes of the other man was fixed on the door again, “She’s a very beautiful young lady.”
Now the tall Russian realized what had happened and immediately thought of a way to turn this to his advantage.
He clapped his guest on the shoulder with a wide grin, “Would you like an introduction? I can assure you that beneath her somewhat cool exterior, she’s a very fine young woman.”
The green eyes lowered shyly and a blush appeared on those fair features, “If… If you do not mind of course Mr. Braginsky.”
Ivan could’ve laughed out loud. Instead, he leaned over and poured both himself and his guest a cupful of the steaming tea.
His violet eyes were lidded as he inhaled the soothing aroma brewed from the finest tea leaves (they had been a gift from Yao a while ago). He watched his guest discreetly through the slowly curling steam from his cup.
Oh yes. Dealing with Toris Lorinaitis was going to be so much fun
~
“Are you sure that was a w-w-wise idea?” The normally nervous tone was shaking now from uncertainty.
Silence reigned for a moment, during which the tapping of keys was particularly loud.
“Eduard…”
Eduard sighed, leaning back from his computer and spinning his chair around to face his younger half-brother, “Look Ravis, it’ll be ok. Toris can take of himself. He is our elder brother after all.”
“B-b-but…”
Eduard shook his head firmly, pushing his square rimmed glasses up on his nose, “He needs to do this.”
He sighed again, eyes moving away from the blue-violet ones of his younger brother and focusing back on his computer screen, “Otherwise, we’re all in for a trip to hell.”

Notes:
1. Thank you to everyone who’s been reading and/or commenting! It’s great to know that you’re all enjoying this (somewhat xD) 2. Yes! This chapter introduces the Baltic Trio. Sorry OP!Anon for shoving in people who you didn’t mention in your prompt, but I hope you don’t mind. 3. I realize that the Baltics are a) completely unrelated and b) all technically have blue eyes (according to the anime), but I’m hoping your willing to accept that they’re half brothers on their mother’s side (hence the different last names). Uh, eye-color wise, I’m scampering between the anime and manga. So uh, I hope it’s ok! 4. Finally have some sort of plot device now. As for what that is (and how the Baltics fit into everything) you’ll just have to wait and see? =D;
