Russia - Cold [1/?]

General Winter is being particularly harsh, this winter, and it sometimes makes Russia regret ever making his pact with him.
But there is nothing he can do about that, and all he can do is watch his people struggle and suffer and work their way through this terrible cold.
He is walking, walking through the tree when he comes across the small child. She is pale, so pale from the cold, lips nearly blue and eyes closed. She is huddled beside a tree, but it has not kept the snow off of her, and it is only because of her dark hair that Russia even notices her at all.
He frowns, and he thinks that he will not allow General Winter to have this one, no, never. She is so young, so small, so innocent. She’s…
She’s one of his people, and he does not want her to die.
So Russia picks her up, and wraps her in his coat. After a moment looking down at her, he unwraps his scarf and wraps it around her instead. He hates to take off his scarf, but for her…
For her, he will do anything. At this moment, he will do anything to save her.
Russia cuddles the small child closer, and then he begins to walk through the snow.
He finds her family-it is not hard, for though he does not know where they live or who they are, his feet take him there nonetheless-and he knocks slowly at their door.
She is finally beginning to feel warm again.
The door opens, and a young woman-oh, but she looks so old, so old and tired through hardship-peers out fearfully at him. Two children, a boy and another girl, look out from behind her, curious.
He smiles, an honest smile to reassure her, and then he asks quietly, “Is this child yours?”
She blinks, surprised, but one look and the mother knows it is her daughter. She cries then, though she tries to remain strong; tears slide down her face despite her best efforts, and Russia smiles and steps forward, offering her the child in his arms.
She takes her child gratefully, hugging her close and crying into her hair. After a moment, though, the woman cuts short her tearful reunion and looks up, to thank the stranger that had brought back her child.
There is no one there.
The mother blinks a few times, and then she looks down at her small daughter, who is smiling, curled up tightly, cuddling into her mother’s warmth.
She is still wrapped in a large coat and a very well-worn scarf.

I don’t know…It might be OOC for Russia to give away his scarf, but I think that Ukraine would gladly make him another, and he might very well do it for…something like this. Or maybe that’s just me.
Anyway, writer!anon here intends to do one of these for every country. I hope that I don’t get overwhelmed with this task, but feel free to offer up more suggestions; I could use them!

Oh Russia... ;A; Usually I don't see him ever removing his scarf, but in this, for one of his children, it's just so touching. Russia seldom cares much for other nations, or other people. But when it's one of his own, much less a young girl, the image is beautiful and also sad. That it was something the least he could do at the moment.
Yea, Ukraine could always make another one for him. xD
