Colbert laughed, this time a little uneasily. “Whadaya mean? I’m a huge patriot! A ginormous patriot!”
The nation shrugged and his smile became almost coy. As he spoke, he drew Colbert closer. “Then you won’t mind if I…?” He brushed his lips over the startled comedian’s mouth, soft and slow without pressure. He kept his eyes open, watching the change of expression on Colbert’s face.
“Wuh? What?” Colbert pulled back a little and lifted his hands as if to shove America away, but they simply rested on the nation’s shoulders. “Hey, I modeled my studio personality after you, so if this is some twisted form of narcissism, I object!”
“If it is, then it goes both ways,” America pointed out. He met Colbert’s eyes, and his citizen froze in place. There was a few moments silence in which he tried to let the other get a grip on what was happening. “Was that actually a protest, or are you panicking?”
“Oh, I’m panicking,” he answered cheerfully. “My country’s coming onto me, and I’m… oh…” The last bit came as America pulled him forward again. He braced himself with one hand on the desk as he was brought back to the smiling mouth.
This time the kiss had a little more power behind it on America’s part, a little more insistent, but still sensitive to the other man's probable inner dilemna. Colbert was barely moving, still in shock as his nation’s tongue pressed lightly against his closed lips, slipping leisurely to the corner of his mouth. The comedian seemed to debate with himself for a moment before he leaned closer and let him in.
That was a signal to America that he’d gotten all the permission he needed, and he swung his legs over the desk, sliding over the opposite edge so that he and Colbert were facing each other completely.
America had barely gotten his balance back when Colbert’s hands snapped up to the sides of his face and forced him aggressively closer. The movement nearly knocked his glasses to the ground, but between the warmth and the mutual smiles that communicated itself in the contact, America really didn’t care. The comedian’s tongue slid against his, pushing back into the nation’s mouth. Then he tilted his head up, nipping at America’s bottom lip before pulling away. Their eyes were still open.
Colbert smirked, and yanked his glasses off theatrically. “How’s that for patriotism?”
America laughed. “Well, it would have been more suave if you hadn’t done that with your glasses afterwards.”
“You’re just jealous because it looked cool!” Colbert said, wagging a finger genially. “Betcha can’t do it better.”
Taking it as a challenge, America flicked his glasses off with two fingers, adding a classic hair flip. Then he winked, and gave a movie-poster grin that would have been blinding if he hadn’t been facing away from the spotlight.
Colbert’s shoulders drooped. “Well, damn.”
“Don’t feel bad,” America said comfortingly, placing a hand on his shoulder. “I’ve had decades more practice than you. That’s all.”
Colbert rolled his eyes. “Teach me your ways, oh mysterious one.”
“There’s that sarcasm again,” America warned.
Far from looking nervous, this time Colbert squared himself up against his nation and raised an eyebrow. “And what, land-of-the-free-home-of-the-brave, are you going to do about it?”
“Fuck you on your desk and use the footage to replace the tapes for tomorrow’s show.”
Colbert started to retort and then his face blanked. “Wait. What?” His looked hastily to the side to see if the cameras were really still recording. “Jimmy…?” he asked tentatively.
Using the moment of distraction, America looped his arm around Colbert’s waist and pulled him against his chest. He grinned down into the surprised face beneath him and whispered, “Kidding.”

Wow. Simply wow.
Loved the dialogue. The banter was very playful and just seems to flow naturally. You have a lot of great one-liners here. Loved the characterizations. Also, Colbert basing his studio persona on Alfred? So. Damn. True. I... love it. Yes.
My brain has melted from this unquantifiable level of AWESOME.

Oh My God. My brain has melted from the combined awesome. God. What makes this even more special is that at school, we just watched Stephen Colbert at the 2006 White House Correspondents' dinner. So amazing, that man. JIMMY!
